MLS net is not quoting attendance on the box score. Looks like you had a good crowd from the camera angles I saw. Hope you had a lot of folks there to see you win.

Anyone have an idea of the attendance and/or ticket sales?

Seemed to be a large amount of empty seats for that number, but who am I to judge. There was a ton of kids in the stands which generated "kiddie" sound, was there a promo available tonight? BTW, I concur, GREAT singing from section 8 tonight.

15 or 14 or 13, whatever it was, it's a hell of a lot better atmosphere than the same size group in Soldier Field, innit?

It was a good crowd tonight. I was in my usual place, Section 8, and I gotta say, I saw a lot of thunder sticks (pre-game give aways) clapping along with S8 tonight.

Also, what was up with the torn up bleachers in Section 8? There were 2 areas where the backs were bent really bad and one whole back-rest portion was torn off. What the hell?!!!!

Anyway, good win, good crowd and of course . . . we rocked in Section 8!!!!

Oh yeah, nice PK Guti . . . .suckass.

That was definitely not cool. If any more damage is done, they're gonna have Monterrey all over the section making sure no one is standing on the bleachers. Let's hope they take the hint and reinforce the backs so it's no longer an issue.

Or, perhaps people should stop being dickheads and stop ripping up the bleachers.

It's hard to demand a bit of respect and leeway from Monterrey and stadium officials when stupidity like this happens in the section. Let's show a bit more pride in our section, our stadium and our team.

Some folks have been upfront and admitted to some of the damage and said it was an accident. Good on them for coming forward. Now, I suggest we focus on what we (S8 folks) should do to help correct the situation. Some kind of S8 fund?

A monetary good will gesture by the "supporter group" responsible would be a good first step.

Those who attended the MLS/Fire Soccer Camps around Chicagoland were able to get a 2-for-1, discounted tickets. Parents paid $20 for $25 tix and kids who attended the camps got in free. BTW, if you have kids, this really is an excellent week-long program done by licensed youth coaches from England. My boys loved it.

Those bleachers are pretty flimsy, two games I've seen there and 4 blenchers have gone down. 3 yesterday and 1 during the Club America vs Fire game. If you looke the backs them they look pretty weak.

I'm no structural engineer, but the fact that they're not designed for people to stand on MIGHT have something to do with that.

Just another example of AEG/The Man sticking it to people by not designing bleacher backs you can stand on.

First the roof, then the club name in the seats, then the pub, then they skimp on the bleacher backs.

    :D

    I think the order was:

    1. Pub

    2. club name in seats

    3. roof

    4. skimpin' on bleacher backs

    ;)

Not sure if it's been discussed since I'm newer here...but I believe the club name in the seats was vetoed by the Village. In fact, all four of those things are Village decisions since it was publicly financed. From what it sounds like, the mayor really skimped out on alot of shit. But the name in seats wasn't done because of the stadium's intended use for things other than Fire matches.
