You just traded a partial allocation for the rights to sign Dema, what's the difference? I'm pretty sure a partial allocation is more steep a price then a shit player like O'Rourke.

And if any deal was to get done, it would be presuent to Jensan signing.

On the other hand, then I get to read something like this drivel, and I feel smart again.

Shaydee, I'm going to type this slowly so that you can understand. Jansen tried out with NYRB and they didn't offer him crap. His agent and the Crew got them together, he tried out and they mutually agreed to start negotiations so the Crew asked the league to put paperwork in for Jansen. NYRB got wind of this and now either (a) wants him or (b) doesn't want the Crew to have him. If it's (a), then they have to give up something for their stupidity of not requesting paperwork before the Crew did. If it's (b), I hope the league gets the paper trail and bitch-slaps NYRB and Arena for interefering with another team's right to negotiate for a player.

It took me 1/2 hour to type this up. Is this slow enough for you Shaydee?

Speaking of Friedel, I'm watching the EPL Preview right now and they had a nice piece on him and the academy he's opening. Even mentioned the Crew.

Or C. Out of work has been English forward, after trialing with Columbus finds out that the new coach in N.Y.C., Arena, is interested in him. His idiot agent , who doesn't know the asinine rules that make up MLS, lets jansen know that they're interested again. Jansen jumps at the chance to play in, really slowly for you now so that you can understand it, New York City as compared to Columbus( who, where?). Unfortunatley for said has been , washed up forward who can't seem to get a job in 3rd division english side back home, he's SOL and has to either decide on columbus or nothing. Schmid and Arena proceed to stare each other down, nuff said.

    Simple.

As for this thread , 12 pages of whining because you're hoping that you don't get screwed by the big city team. We get it, single entity saves your butts or else you'd be the Kansas City Royals of MLS.

    Nutshell:

RBNY had a chance to get him signed. They didn't.
Columbus had a chance to get him signed. They did.
Therefore, Columbus, not NYRB, has dibbs.

    End of file.

    P.S.: Waaaaaah.

    That's cute.

Especially considering that this team was the only team even close to turning a profit for years and years. Yes, they were about the only bright spot while teams like yours were so deep in the red, losing money like crazy that some questioned, and still do, MLS's viabilty.

Kansas City Royals? Learn your shit before you make another poor analogy, newbie.

Thank god we've got a team in NY, and all those great fans, to keep the rest of us little minnions afloat...

What was that, about Giants Stadium huge rent, crowds of 5,000 and millions of dollars in losses? Well, sure, but look at all the trophies....

Er, nevermind. I'm pretty sure what you meant to say was that, thanks to single entity, the "soccer" team, and I use that term loosely, based in the Tri-State area has spent the last 11 years wasting millions upon millions of dollars, with poor signings and poor fans support, while the rest of the league has done what they can to help cover YOUR losses. Hell, even San Jose was better run -- at least they won.

    Asshat.

What part of that quote don't you seem to understand. Remove single entity and the major media markets and ownership groups will control this league as well. Columbus would never be able to afford to go head to head with NYC, Chicago, LA etc. Not that this discussion really matters because soccer can't generate any kind of TV viewership or ticket sales to even think about single ownership anyway.

Back to your whining about washed up forwards.

See, this is what I don't get.

I mean, even the double-digit IQ bunch (I'd use the word "crowd" but RedBalls fans wouldn't know one if they saw one) ought to have enough synaptic activity to recognize that THEY are the ones who are whining, crying and wailing like little girls who just lost their favorite Barbie.

Crew fans have nothing to whine about. From the very beginning, even that mope Galarcep said that MLS HQ had sided with US.

Therefore, we have nothing whatever to "whine" about. We're as happy as Michael Jackson at a Cub Scout Jamboree. Or R. Kelly during Girl Scout cookie drives.

I don't even recall anyone saying they wished Jansen would change his mind and sign with CBus. If he prefers tending his Mum's petunia patch and feeding the pigeons at the park to having an actual job with Crew, then screw him. Buh-bye now, loser.

Your head coach and FO are the ones that whined to MLS HQ - and had the door slammed in their faces. Please, educate yourself before you make idiotic statements. It's unreal how some folks just don't take the time for a few minutes of reading in order to grasp the situation...

See, here's what amuses me about big market fans, particularly NYC fans -- they don't get it. Let's look at the 3 "big league" sports in this country...

MLB -- since 2001, the champs have been Arizona, Anaheim, Florida, Boston & Chicago (AL).

NFL -- starting with the 2001 Super Bowl, the champs have been Baltimore, New England, Tampa Bay, New England, New England & Pittsburgh.

NBA -- since 2001, the champs have been Los Angeles, Los Angeles, San Antonio, Detroit, San Antonio, & Miami.

This is where I'm all confused. If NY is such an all-powerful media market, and sports teams there piss money, where's the trophies?

At the end of the day, while a team like Columbus, or Kansas City, or even Houston or Dallas wouldn't have the same financial resources as New York or Los Angeles in a "one team, one owner" system, that in no way, shape or form guarantees you anything more than the ability to have a higher payroll. How you run your team decides if you win or lose -- money can make it easier, but it doesn't win the games for you.

    Go ask Isiah Thomas.

Who didn't win either the Champions League nor the FA Cup.
Money doesn't buy everything, that's why they play the games.

Judging by Buddle's hat-trick against the Salt Lakers, the Metric Balls might not need Jansen.

Well, you do know that he's known for one hat-trick per season. That means he'll be spent for the rest of the year and the Red Balls will be in deep doo-doo the rest of the year.

I'm sure that's what they'll think. We could tell them otherwise; as DGA says he's always good for one HT per year.
