Lee Chun Soo was one of our best playr in WC, scored on beatiful free kick. Even tho he's winger, came bak to save our crap D so many times when they blew it. Now LCS just tore into Gamba and Dalian so bad their nothing but a giant bleeding azzhole. WTF else can LCS do to get into Europe?
Not disagreeing wit you Sky, but still, no action? Fcking bulshit. I'm wondering if those cheating Italyan fcks dumping all their players are responsibel for fcuking up the playr transfer market.
Just heard that he broke up with that Miss Korea girlfriend... (from the best friend of his GF) hoep he can concentrate on soccer now.
Hehe.... Oh man, that girl was the best thing that happened in his life. I always thought hot women were good muses to players, not distractions. Oh well, LCS, pent up sexual energy will make you tackler harder and run faster!!!! GO MISS KOREA!
She was a money whore anyway. She only seem to like LCS by money and wants some fame by being "soccer players" GF. Back to topic, I honestly think that LCS is perhaps not ready to play in top leagues such as La Liga, EPL, Serie A or even Bundesliga like many people here is saying or according to the rumours going around him. Even during the world cup when he was our best player, he just doesn't seem to be the type that can be successful at Top European flights. Against Togo, the only thing he did in this match was the FK goal and continuous pass back to our defenders whenever he has the ball because he couldn't dribble past opposing player properly. Comparing him to European wingers such as Robben or even Park, they always try to get past players even if it turns out unsuccessful and make something out of nothing. HE also didn't deliver proper cross except in Set Piece situation. (One thing I do admire of LCS is his Set piece skills. Excellent FK taker. Didn't he said that while everyone is training other things, he always practices FK ?) Anyway, furthermore, the match against France showed more of LCS's ability. He made a very predictable moves throughout the match and again, never been able to properly get past players. I do recall that he did get past Abidal with pace in one occasion but again, he made a very predictable cross which was blocked by Thuram. Later, LCS did come off for Ahn and his position was replaced by Seol who like many wingers do (even though I don't think Seol is a winger but he was put in a wing position by Advocaat) get pass Abidal (?) and delivered a perfect cross for Cho Jae Jin to tap in for Park. But I'll admit, the last match against Swiss did show some glimpse of his ability that probably in future, he is ready for Europe. He ran nonstop and played his guts out. He delivered great crosses (in corner situation) but in some ways, again, made predictable shots and moves which was all easily blocked by Zuberbuhler, the swiss GK. Really, many of his shots in this match was easily savable for any GKs IMO. But I give props to LCS as he was excellent in many occasions, coming back from the attacking position to block many of Frei's open chances and never giving up to the final whistle. Many people here will probably disagree with me but right now, I'll say the right move for him is to TRY out in mid-european leagues (Holland, Scotland). NOT going straight to Blackburn Rovers of EPL etc...One step at a time for LCS I hope... Oh yeah, great to hear our Korean clubs smashing Nippon's by 6-0!
How can you diss LCS's face and especially his "smile". ( 진짜로 살인날것같은 살인미소 ㅋㅋㅋ ) Just look at him... doesn't he look abnorma...I mean...adorable...
It does indeed boggle one's mind that LCS isn't playing in Europe right now. He was most definitely the best player in our squad during the WC.
Apparently Portsmouth expressed 'an interest' in Lee CS, wanting to loan him for a year following a 3-day trial. And apparently Lee rejected the idea.
Looks like Chun Soo will stay with Ulsan for half a season more until the end of this year. He wants a perfect offer it seems after Ulsan has a shot of winning the ACL. http://kr.news.yahoo.com/service/ne...d=2006082819155726901&linkid=383&newssetid=27
Here's an article from skysports that pretty much confirms what Elliad said so I guess it's true: http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx...id=47&lid=&title=Pompey+fail+with+Korean+deal Portsmouth didn't want to sign him. They just wanted to borrow him from Ulsan Horangi for a year after he successfully completed a trial and LCS said no.
I suppose Portsmouth wanted to see if Lee could adapt to the EPL first, seeing how he didn't do so well in Spain. But then they demanded a trial?
Apparently there is interest from Portsmouth again as Ulsan have decided to let LCS leave since Chung Kyung-Ho is coming back from military service. A possible move for the Ulsan hitman in January
Yeah the guy definitely needs to swim in a bigger sea. That's what Coelho said recently to him too.. Besides he can because he's exempt from military anyways and Ulsan is helping him move. I say why not.
I think the problem with LCS is the same problem that all Asian and North American players face. I think European teams are only allowed 5 Non-EU players on their roster. For most clubs, 1-2 of those slots are going to proven players, 2-3 are going to go to players that are on the verge of breaking out or failing, and 0-2 (but most likely 1) slots are going to be for a transfer that the club is willing to gamble on. LCS fits into the last category and with his track record in Europe (and other non-PSV Koreans), most clubs are going to gamble on an up and commer from Africa or South America (where the styles are similiar/easily adaptable). Guys like PJS and LYP had the benefit of Hiddink advocating for them in Europe and perhaps that's what LCS needs.
