If i was Kashtan i would try these players:

    Defenders:
    Kobi Nachtailer(if he gets fit)
    Shmuel Lavan
    Guy Melamed
    Haim Magrashvili
    Eyal Meshumar

    Midfielders:
    Moshe Mishaelof
    Maor Melickson
    Moshe Ohayon

    Forwards:
    Itay Shechter

u know just to try and see what options he haves in case of an injury on the regular players, and i would kick out Walid Badier he is just too old and i dont like his game!!!!

    who is shmuel lavan?

and i dont think guy melamed is near good enough he hardly played in colorado and im not even sure if hes signed for a club yet

Meshumar and Megrashvili should be considered but I dont think they have a real chance of playing, especially megrashvili.

Melikson................maybe in a few months he needs to be more consistent in the league

moshe ohayon.........maybe again, hes playing in the 2nd division in switzerland which is much worse than the israeli league- also he had a very dissappointing year last year

Mishaelof........yes give hime a chance, still he's not near good enough to be a starting player

i agree with you about badeer but just kashtan seems to have fallen in love with him at hapoel tel-aviv, thats why i think he'll take him

Re: Israel vs. Slovenia [R], International Friendly, 15.08.06

    from always trusty wikipedia ;)

Samuel "Shmulik" Lavan (Hebrew: שמואל "שמוליק" לבן), born January 21, 1982, is an Israeli footballer at Royal Antwerp F.C. in Belgium.

Samuel Lavan was born in Israel, but left for Belgium when he was fourteen(14) years old. He began playing youth football at Lierse S.K. and soon after moved to the V.C. Eendracht Aalst 2002 youth team where he reached the quarter-finals of the European youth championship.

After the sucsessful time in Aalst he returned to Lierse S.K. but this time he played for the full side afterwhich he was signed by Beitar Jerusalem FC for the 2001-2002 season.

After only one season in Israel he signed with K.M. S.K. Deinze from the second division in Belgium, after 3 years in K.M.S.K Deinze he was signed by Royal Antwerp F.C. in June of 2005. Lavan also holds a Belgian passport.

His name recently has been added to the short list of Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC. Manager Itzhak Shum would like to sign Lavan as a backup defender

Can someone explain why Tal Ben Haim was thrown out of the training camp? I have been out of it for a while and have only heard little bits of information by word of mouth.

Anybody that watched the match willing to offer a report about how the new-look squad looked? Heard Benayoun scored even though he was injured! :)

Yep, Yossi came off the bench and scored a nice goal. Actually he was quite lucky, as Katan at the same attack has hit the post.
I don't think that we can get an opinion about the team when Ben Haim, Benayoun(most of the match), and Colautti aren't playing. Shlomi Arbeitman doesn't deserve to open in the lineup of the NT, there are better strikers than him. Ben Yosef is just playing bad, he's not in a good form and should not be invited to the Euro Qualies matches.
And one thing that i've said and looks like i need to say it again - There's no place for Nir Davidovitch at the NT. He is a good goalkeeper but since last year he doesn't play good.

Katan made some nice movements, Gershon was fine, Aouate was good, Omri Afek also had some nice plays.

Thanks for the report....I totally agree about Aouate....he's the first-choice keeper at a top club in Spain and was the real hero in the qualifier against Ireland....Davidovich is solid but is in a completely different class from Aouate.

Great article in Haaretz about Benayoun- sounds like he's got his humble head in the right place. He proved his value today and reinforced his appointment as captain. Heard he played very hard.

    Thanks for the update.
