Yeah, the transition was announced in the beginning of last season and Thierry wore a pair of whited-out Reeboks for DB10's testimonial match.

I have just checked the site out and it has lots of great stuff...great find mate!

When did the adidas deal to buy Reebok go through? I can't seem to find anything about that, although I haven't tried to hard yet...this deal must have been in the works before adidas bought Reebok - but I would think that adidas, being the parent company would want Henry in 'Three stripes' rather than RBK gear.

Adidas bought Reebok a couple of years ago I believe. If I remember correctly, that is.

Not necessarily....a big name guy could exactly be what's needed to rejuvenate a fading brand.

yep...it was sad news last year when I learned that he was leaving Nike. If you look back on the some of the threads from the end of last season this was seen as a sign he was going to leave Arsenal since they have been and look to be for years to come a Nike team.

Actually I really liked that he switched... all these brands have the same thing over and over again with every well known player wearing their stuff... Besides Ryan Giggs and the Bellini III's, Henry will be the only player wearing Reebok. And I also miss the days where each team had a unique jersey.. Now it's sort of everything has the same design just with different color and differnt club sign.

It's kind of nice that the boot was semi Henry inspired...

Reebok sucks, I love Nike. It's a shame to see him wearing new cleats that are complete crap.

Yeah let's hope that he inspires some decent football boots from RBK. Over the years they have had some of the worst pieces of rubbish I've ever put on my feet. I cringed when I heard this news a while back. Maybe with Adidas as the parent company things will change.

Henry's new boots looks nicer than the vapours, and as Henry will be joining the likes of Iverson, Amir Khan, 50 Cent and Nelly is always a plus and he will be the main face of football its always a plus

In implying it's a plus for Henry to be associated with 50 cent.

To me it doesn't matter what boots Henry is wearing just as long as he can still score in them it doesn't matter.

He will be in the "I am what I am" campigan and in one of the interviews in the website he speaks about his admiration for Iverson.

Who really cares but are we sure it doesn't have anything to do with the fact that they're both Reebok guys now?

the adidas-reebok merger (aka adidas takeover) wasn't official until this past january. the reason henry is wearing reebok and not adidas is that adidas and reebok both agreed that henry would be better as a stand-alone spokesman as opposed to joining a roster of other players. he is arguably the best player in the world and extremely charismatic, and really fits in with reebok's marketing campaign quite nicely. reebok has said that they are going to start focusing on a few individual players as opposed to teams or having a large roster of talent. i was bummed when i first found out because nike had been making in roads with the stand up speak up campaign and henry was a large part of that. however, reebok promised that they would continue to help henry with whatever campaigns he thought would work. it essentially gives henry a platform to become an even bigger star- plus he's getting paid quite nicely.
