Now that Hearts have drawn AEK in the next round of the Champions League providing we finish the tie in Bosnia do AEK fans think this is a difficult or easy tie ???. Will you be bringing many fans over to Edinburgh for the game ?? I think the tie is 50/50 it will all depend on the score in the 1st leg at Murrayfield which we are using for our European games ( capacity 68,000 ) instead of our home ground Tynecastle ( capacity 18,000 ). I think the attendance for this game will be 40,000 + Good luck, i hope they are two great games !!! Some action from last seasons Scottish Cup sem-final http://media.putfile.com/Believe-60 Hearts fans abroad http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlCCb0hJ0y0&search=hearts song
AEK has been impressive so far in the friendlies but will lack official games and this is a major boost for Hearts, especially because they play Celtic the week-end before the game they will be very motivated. Notheless, I hope AEK goes through for the good of Greek football in Europe and bring some much needed points to climb a few places in the UEFA. Also, as I live in Glasgow, I'm thinking of going to see the game with a few friends, do you think we have our chances to find tickets or a full-house is expected???
Well AEK have not played yet, and Hearts already have 2 league and 2 UEFA games under their belt. However AEK have been in training for a month and a half and have played 6 friendlies, so it's not like they are not in the 'grind'. If Hearts are gonna win this tie though, they need to use their current high spirits NOW,because in a fortnight it will be a different ballgame in Athens. AEK play PAOK in the 1st matchday for the new Greek Superleague on the 19th. AEK is confident and I am personally looking for big games from Panayiotis Lagos, the most sought after left footed midfielder in Greece this season (came from Iraklis for 900,000, rejecting offers from Panathinaikos and OSFP), and his old teamate and winter '06 signing of Kapetanos. I had my doubts on Kapetanos' effectiveness as a striker for us, even though the poor kid didn't get any real time, but he knows how to play with Lagos and I think his game will rise. I think overall AEK need to weather the storm early and settle down. Hearts will come out very emotional and AEK need to be calm. Lagos on the right of midfield to run at Fyssas their LB who is slow and who I believe we can take advantage of. Ferrer has shown he likes Lagos on the right as opposed to the left he's played at Iraklis. -------Sorrentino------- Pautasso-Dellas-Cirillo-Tzio --------Emerson-------- Lagos------Ivic-----Cesar ---------Lyberopoulos--------- --------Kapetanos--------
The game has just started. Good luck to AEK Athens. I'm particularly looking forward to seeing Lyberopoulos play again.
Its been all AEK in the first half. Hearts have been so poor, Karipidis is making his debut, in midfield...ouch!
If there's anyone in North America, or anwhere in the world where the game isnt on tv for that matter, you can listen to it live on Radio Scotland. goto www.bbc.co.uk/radio then launch the radio player and select Radio Scotland, then listen live
Lyberopoulos is playing like the legend he is. Hearts have been woeful. At least they made it to half-time.
I used to cheer for AEK a few years ago, when Mauricio Wright and walter Centeno played there, i hope they make it to the UCL this year
A well deserved 2-1 win for AEK, although it was a very harsh sending off. Hearts were a shambles but AEK just didn't look like they were going to score, but deserved when it came.
This game should have been 3-0 AEK. Hearts were lucky to get 1, and AEK were unlucky to only get 2. FORZA AEK!!!!
Well, came back from the game about an hour ago (thanks Manic Jambo, it was indeed easy to find tickets). Although a PAO fan myself, I went to support the Greek colours AEK was very impressive, they really dominated the game especially the first half. They had so many corners and so many shots on goal and hit the post twice that it could have easily been 4-0 for the visitors. I think they were unlucky to get behind (the Hearts goal was superb though in the built-up and the finish); as were Hearts to get down to 10 men (I think it was a harsh sending-off, but if you saw the game on TV, tell me what they said). At the end, they never gave up and scored in the last minute before adding a second during added time. I was very impressed by AEK, the way they started and throught out the game the way they passed the ball and built the game. I feel Hearts were a little bit tensed and did not start the game as most of the crowd expected (they were quite disappointed with the performance). Great stadium, about 32,459 capacity, and at the end I think the best team won
