Damn, Lublin got a difficult match..They could've got someone easier, but we usually never have luck in these competitions.

In any case, all the best to them, maybe Iwanski can play like he did in the 2nd half of the year and get them through.

Yep. Not the luckiest draw, thats for sure. BATE would have been worse, but considering our Central - East group included unseeded teams from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein and Georgia they could have done better.

Perhaps its the recent WC experiences, but I am a bit sceptical here. Then again if we don't start getting some points in the rankings soon its going to get real depressing. I mean if a team that finished 3rd in the OE last season, loses out to a team which is currently sixth in the Belorussian league, then we are done as far as an European aspirations are concerned.

Hoping for the best I say that Lubin will go through, 1-1 on the road, and 2-0 at home, for a 3-1 aggregate.

Ok time to start another season of Europe for our EK teams in Europe. Starting with Zaglebie L. I think Zaglebie should get past this round despite the fact they are playing the toughest team they could have drawn. I went on the Dynamo Minsk site (http://www.dinamo-minsk.com/) I was surprised to see they have a decent stadium, and some pretty impressive sponsors. Anyways the fact they are in the middle of their season is a huge advantage but I think if the trio of Lobodzinski , Iwan and Chalbinski play well that should be enough to get through to the next round. Lets hope so because we cannot afford to loose more UEFA points. Today the IIFHS (or whatever) came out with a club ranking and our top team is Wisla Plock ranked 307:eek:

That ranking is messed, just like the FIFA one. How can Wisla Plock be our best team, I mean, just because they've had minimal success in Europe over the last little while, that's enough for them to pass our current champion, and former champion?

I, personally, after watching Lech Poznan play live, think that they will lose, and that we are doomed.

wow, has anyone seen the line for tomorrows game. I thought Minsk would be a favourite for sure, but apparently, thats now what BetFair thinks..

Man, that is an unbelievable line. With ZL having no experience in UEFA and Minsk being in the middle of their season (3rd place) it almost makes me think
they know something we don't. Karny I think the game is on in Poland on TVP
    are you gonna watch?

1:1 against Minsk. Dissapointing result but overall it was expected. Dynamo is in the middle of their season and this was Zaglebie's first official match. Still you can tell that other than Wisla or Legia the quality of other club teams are dropping each year. In two weeks we should see a much fresher Zaglebie Lublin side but by then it might be too late as it will be tough to get a win
    in Belarus.

1-1 is not a dissapointing result, just because Dinamo are wining because of the away goals rule doesnt mean that 1-1 is bad, that is actually good since Lubin hasnt really played in UEFA competitions

the funniest part is that Zaglebie actually had the run of play, and had more chances than Dinamo Minsk, even though this was their first competitive game of the season, whereas the Belurassian league is already a third of the way through.

I was pleasantly surprised that the game was on TVP, thanks Bialagwiazda. Although the camerawork wasnt exactly err World Cup material, it was good to see that theres interest in it on free cable.

This is beginning to look even worse than last year. 1st round exit in Intertoto, 1st round exit here. Terrible. Hopefully Legia and Wisla can do something cause otherwise we'll be spectators before the end of the summer.

Wisla got a pretty tough draw for this stage of the competition..

I think Plock can make it through without too many problems..
