one last word on the assist thing and I'll shut the fcuk up.....went back and watched Nunez goal last week....after getting a simple pass from Cooper he took three touches before the shot (4 touches in all) whereas Thompson took two touches before the shot (3 in all) having recieved a much better and more clinical pass from Cooper.....Cooper gets an assist on Nunez goal but not on Thompsons....and that makes no sense at all. None.

 

FWIW, on the simple point of whether Cooper deserved an assist on this goal, I agree with E66 - that was a pass worthy of an assist. No way Abe scores that goal without the greatness of the pass - which seems to me to be the essence of an "assist".

But Chamo is right - contact the league office and share your feedback.

 

The last four goals we've scored are all top self. You won't find any better in the English Premier. I like what we're doing without ROB or Ruiz.

 

for what its worth in todays updated mls stats Cooper is credited with the assist on Abe's goal.
