Steve Nicol has done it again with this guy. He is very composed, versatile, and seems to have good vision for a guy who has played mostly defender in his career. Looks to be a holding mid with a bright future. Any opinions on this year's crop of rookies? Brown, Sims, and Wynn are talented players who should be good once they get a little more experience. I haven't seen Haggerty, Galik, or Williamson play yet.

brown, syms and wynn I think they are "pre-hreating"
    the other 3... defrosting?

We noticed last night his photo in the SideKick, he exists, but Sharlie's is missing...I think we need to question Sharlie's commitment to the team :D

I have liked his play so far this year at DM. He did not look as good in defense partnered with Parkhurst to me. The one question I still have, and it is not a knock against him, is how well will he do at DM without Joseph next to him?

Brown looks almost ready. A little more touch and some confidence.
Wynn looked like he could do it, but was way to passive in his first full game.
Sims needs more time with the reserves.
    Unknown for the rest.

I think Galik will be a player as well. He looked composed and was settling in well in the RSL game before hisw Hammy acted up again.

He's the one I see with the best physical attributes and upside. He's a Brandenton guy so he has to have some skills. He could be our long term replacement for DH if it comes to it.

As for Lawrentowicz, he may be exhibit A if Stevie Nicol ever has to prove he gives a rat's ass about the reserve team. That rat's ass just may have red hair and an ivy league education.

You guys are crazy....hes hiding as best as he can and belongs in the A League.....he cant defend 1v1 and gives away 2-3 restarts in bad spots per game due to his lcak of pace and 1v1 defending....the question is how many games have they won since he jumped in there...1. You cant say Nicols done it again. Its no different than when Brilliant had a few good games two years ago...or Richy baker. He will not be the legaue in 2 years is my guess. Come on boys, Dorman yes James Riley yes, but not this guy

Someone from that group of reserves HAS to get on the park due to numbers, and he happens to be the only central player. If Cunnigham could have finished last weekend, maybe my points would makemore sense.

Even Lockhead, who I thought was a very very good college player, does not seem to have the gears to play wide in the MLS.,

And for the record, De Olivera is rumored to have a partying problem...I mean, if you are that good at UConn, they arent going to let you go unless something is wrong....

The whole team looked like crap vs. RSL and Larentowicz no more so than anyone else.

He has done a great job stepping in and looked good in just about every game (RSL the exception, but it certainly wasn't just him), much more than can be said for Lochhead, so no, your points don't make much sense.

I wonder how many of the games in which he's played ypu've seen? If you are baseing your opinion only on his play in the Crew match---that was by far his worst outing so far. As a DMF with the authority to go forward he's been a real eyeopener and has started to earn respect of most of us Rev fans. He's big, he's fast, he's good in the air and he's a real terrier of a ball hawk who plays an smart, intense style. With a mentor like Steve Nicol he may develope onto a very solid MLS player.

Nevermind...I can't find anything...maybe it was about a past surgery or something.

Can rumors be public record? People have varying standards of what a "problem" is regarding partying. Especially freshmen.

He didn't get fat at UAB when he was injured, so I can only speculate that if he had a problem at UCONN, he grew up a bit when he transferred.

He did recently have knee surgery. I don't have any details about what was done or how long he's projected to be in rehab. One of the knocks on him was his chronic knee problem. In the past many of these knee problems stayed just that-- a chronic problem. Fortunately, modern sports medicine specialists have developed a bunch of new proceedures that can result in a players return to full fitness. Hopefully this will be the case with this young man. If both Paul and Steve are very high on the kids potential and were willing to take him even with his knee problem I'm willing to bet he has a huge up side if they can get him healthy. It may mean we have to wait till next year to reap the result but if he turns out to be an MLS level starter it probibly is worth the wait.

He was talking about Cunningham, so he meant the RSL game. Now you just admitted there was a second game that he wasn't all that good in (but like revolutionfan said, everyone sucked at RSL).

I was talking about the RSL game. Other than that game i don't thin he's been other than a pleasent surprise that stepped up and played very well when the team needed bodies.

I tend to agree here. I think most of this hype (or even lukewarm praise) is unwarranted. I see a lot less in Lawrentowicz now than I did in rookie year Dorman or Riley, and even those two had growing pains in the midst of their development. Jeff is serviceable at best, and I doubt we'll be seeing much of him down the line once more of our guys heal up.

He was the fourth pick in the 2005 supplemental draft. He's now performing adequately as a defensive midfielder with a lot of our regulars still out. How many goals have our opponents scored since the FC Dallas game? Less than one a game. I give him my props.
