I'll take both. A co-worker told me on Monday how lucky Portugal was to win the game. I told him, "I'd rather win with luck than lose without it." :D

People keep telling me it was luck we won against the Netherlands. We were a man down, with no Ronaldo, and still managed to beat Netherlands. In my opinion...Netherlands were LUCKY that Ronaldo was no on the field.

I gotta agree with you. What people keep referring to is the post and missed chances the Dutch had...but forget Pauleta's shot and Tiago's 2-step that he should have shot. Our team is playing with heart, and that opens up opportunities and closes down the opposition.

I am telling you. This Seleccao, those group of men chosen to honor the flag, play as if nothing else matters. From Miguel's rampent horse running, to Maniche's box to box running(goal scoring), to Carvalho throwing himself infront of every shot, Meira failing once, twice, but jumping back up as quickly as humanly possible, Figo headbunting, Ronaldo crying, Deco karate kicking, Boa Morte throwing people out of the way, to the entire God Damn bench itching to call thier friends to get the sniper rifles ready.

This Seleccao has done me proud, whatever happens here on in...that victory against the Dutch was one to forever remember, and one that I was extremely proud of, one the NATION can be proud of.

We got our guns, y'all NEED to go get yours.

Here we go. Look at this punk Greece boy cheering for Benfica, hoping Portugal loses. Buddy, you said we weren't going to get out of group stages, then you said we were out against Netherlands, now we gone Saturday

Hey punk girlie, how about this right here. Where is your little Greece team? Oh thats right, they were not good enough to qualify.

Portugal = The New Seleccao to F with.

Greece = All those punk kids that only started proclaiming they were from Greece after they managed to win the Euro 2004. Funny...haven't seen any Greek Clothing or flags lately.

our group wasnt that easy, Angola proved to be defensively solid
and Mexico is actually ranked higher in the World rankings and were seeded
but of course we took them out

than we had to play a tough game against Holland

England beat paraguay on a own goal, beat TRINIDAD and tie sweden and beat Ecuador, that is what you call an easy route
but their route will end on Saturday when Portugal plays them..

Ok 1st of all, being without Ronaldo AND a man down and still winning is not luck. We beat Netherlands in Euro and we did it again in the World Cup soo people who think it was luck, get over yourselves and get it through your heads that Portugal's the better team! Boa Sorte Portugal!

Once again, Scolari surprised me with the unexpected! the Portugal x Holland game was a disgrace to all of football! I watched the game with a fellow cousin and a co-worker Dragoner, who is Serbian, and I remember him commenting that C.Ronaldo would be crying before the match ended, haha. What we encountered this Sunday was a shamble by all of our most experienced players, especially FIGO who luckily has a career in the Diving team for Portugal in the 2008 games! Even the unsportsmanship by my favourite player DECO, and countless other disgraceful displays, namely Ricardo wasting time, and Pauleta still without jumping once in the 4 games, of course all can't be ignored, because Holland squad didn't help, the ref got the biggest critisim but he shouldn't have been the one penalized.(wont ref nomore)... the biggest surprise of course was Portugal's victory, on an excellent cross by Deco and beautifully placed shot by Maniche, the Euro 2004 Champions(Porto) once again coming to the aid of a subpar seleccao, but not much worse than Holland, who didn't show any soccer at all, even when with a man up.

next is England... and after the Euro 2000, 2004, Porto vs. Manchester, Chelsea, Benfica vs. Manchester, Liverpool and Sporting vs. Newcastle and Middlesbrough I hope it's not this one that will end our supremacy over the english! Let's hope Scolari proves us wrong again!

I'm not as worried about Valente. Van Diver, er Persie, has dribbling skills beyond any of the English players. Only J. Cole in their current starting line-up can cut-back close to Van Persie. The other mids/forwards don't have the same dribbling capabilities. I don't think he'll get burned like he did on Sunday.

I am concerned about the yellows...but, hey, let's win this game first and then count the casualties.

Yeah Joe Cole is definitly the only English player with swagger. Thankfully, Valente won't have to worry about him to much I hope. Miguel will be playing on his side of the pitch. Miguel, hopefully will hold Cole down with his stellar defense and tire him down with his fast, galloped styled running!

Also worried about the yellows. But its live for the moment. Win the game, then replace. They need to go all out. Besides, we will get Deco and Costinha back!

Even without costinha and deco Portugal is very strong on the attack.
england is still not playing well and I don't see them winning unless the official helps them out.

Portugal needs to be ultra carefull on contact close to the box.
England eventhough they did the most vs Ecuador, their goal came off a non existent foul. Lets hope Scolari has this on their heads. We can't be foulish, and get get caught on silly set pieces. If we can control that we have a excellent opportunity to win.

Looks like we are going to have to send Petit onto the pitch in a plastic box with his mouth taped shut then.

"OH-EM-GEE, PoRTuGaL is DA LAmEStesT iN dA wHiZ-OrLd!!!"

go away, we dont want you here and we dont go to your boards and talk trash on your team.

didn't your mother ever teach you to be courteous?

The problem we have is with all the yellow cards. You just know all the English players will be wearing their swim suits on Saturday. Hopefully the ref calls an honest game and may the best team win.

Could care less though. We need to play for the moment and not for the futur. Don't pick up any Red cards DURING the game thats all I ask.

Whatever happens to get a yellow happens. Personally, I hope Maniche just doesnt get one.
