I have a Feeling Ingerland will show up and play with Confidence. But you never know what will happen.

I want Eusebio to be on the sidelines For Motivation.

Can someone please find me when was the last time a portuguese team lost to an english one in official games, both the NT and the three main clubs? I can't remember any lost since 2000, i mean, even Sporting managed to win against ManU, and so did Porto and Benfica.

Everyone is giving the fact that Deco won't play too much importance. He certainly is a key player but Figo will certainly handle the spot nicely and Simão will had velocity and flair to the wings and I really don't have a preference for neither Costinha nor Deco.

If all else fails, just put in Eusébio in Deco's place and let him get revenge for 66:D If we win he will have an heart strike

Nah, it was a friendly, Sporting won 4-nil if I recall correctly, Ronaldo did a hell of a game and was imediately bought by Fergunson. The only lost seems to be the friendly between Porto and Chelsea this year (an half portuguese team:p ) Besides that, it's all victories baby.

Well, reading this, I can deduce the Dutch player really wanted to get Ronaldo injured. If I were him, I would keep my mouth shut.

Why put Figo in the middle? What about leaving the wings as they are and putting Tiago to handle the middle?

Tiago works very hard and has some talent to him. Another option could be moving Ronaldo into Deco spot and inserting Simao into the wing.

I feel that Deco's positions needs someone who plays more of instinct and speed. I think Ronaldo might play that role better then Figo...although, I does not bother me one bit if Figo mans that role.

Wow am I nervous for this game.

Can they just shup up? The game is over, they lost. Congradgulations you can't beat a nine man, without Ronaldo, Portugal team. Holland is a good team but thats it. Showed no class and didn't diserve to win. Am I taking a moral ground? Damn right I am:cool:

Now England. This game won't be the travesty of our game against Holland I'm sure. Portugal v England are always crackers, gutwrencing games. I am really looking foward. I think we shall win 2-0.

since watching the first couple of games, the one part of our team that just stays solid, and allmost progresses has been the back 4. Wow have they just played fantastic in our last game. In my personal opinion, our midfield are just more sound solid even without deco. We should be able to take england, i just have this gut feeling. I could see pauleta having a big game, but i also could see a replay of the last game, score early, and attack from there.

I agree, scoring early will be very important. England has a very good defense, so it will be a hard task. But some of their key players have seen better days:

    Lampard: He has been awful.
    Owen: Injured.
Rooney: He's about 60% recovered from his injured.
Terry: Looks shaky ( he IS the best defender in the world though).
Beckham: A danger in set-pieces, slow on everything else.

So it's very 50-50, could go either way.

Lampard hasn't been struggling with his overall preformance but more with his shooting. The thing that worries me is that eventually, he will get one to go in....

Rooney, I don't know how you can evaluate him at 60 percent, or any percentage for that matter. Still fast as hell.

Beckham is correct though, always dangerous at set-pieces.

    So newvous for this game.

Lampard got eats some carrots, he can't shoot For beans. I think Ingerland will win because they are bound to score plenty.

Rio Ferdinand said ''Ronaldo is a special player that can take over a game''. So we will see what happens.

I think Ronaldo was having a break-out game against the Dutch...until they hurt him. But he started out strong. I hope he carries this over to the England game. Keeping in mind he knows a lot of the players and hopefully the familiarity keep him calm.

I think I'll be watching this game next to a hospital.

I wouldn't say it was 50-50. Deco's out, and I have to say that gives some sort of advantage to the English.

I don't like to make predictions, I just want match-day to come.

I would agree I think the english come into the hand in better shape then Portugal. Our best player is hurt and who knows how he will react. Our second best player is sitting because of a red card.

Valente is a serious concern! He was beat badly on the wing many times and most of the pressure came from that side. Paulo Ferriera should start on the left. He doesn't give us the offense Valente does but he is solid on defense and knows the English players.

My other concern is how the players carrying yellows will play concidering the card situation.

On the plus side we have found ways to win. We come in with lots of confidense and Ronaldo wants to prove something. Simao, Meira, Miguel, Ricardo, and Maniche are playing amazing.

I'm in Houston, aka H-town. There's a small Portuguese population here (mainly transplants from NorthEast or San Diego) and a growing Angolan population (oil). I was born here but my mae is Portuguese.

It is hot and incredibly humid here...they built this city on top of a swamp.
