Well I hope we don't crash out in 2007 like we did in 2004. Regardless, I'll look forward to the Asian Cup. I'd like to see the likes of Lee Chun-Soo and Lee Dong-Guk scoring lots of goals.

I was quite astonishing to find that our last Asian Cup win was back in 1960s. Since then, we finished runner-ups only once in 1972 and 3rd place twice with recently back in 2000. I would like to see Lee Dong Gook coming back in great shape from injury. Hope to see improved South Korea in Asian Cup.

we need to win this asian cup.. it would be nice to keep dick as coach.. but for some reason i don't see him coming back.. we need stability on defense, improved tecnique, skill, passing, and finishing.. i really feel sorry for dong gook.. he really hasn't had a chance to shine at the world level.. hope he can use the asian cup as his stage..

I think Dick already announced his resignation as the KNT coach. I'm too lazy to research it and confirm, but I believe he said that before the WC that he would resign right after it.

So we'll need to get a good coach, and hopefully improve on defending as well as finishing on offense and come up with a successful tournament at the Asian Cup.

Yes, I think he already signed pre-contract with Russian Club FC Zenit Saint Petersburg. I really do hope we get a quality coach that has tremendous experience, has deep knowledge in formation settings, and sense of finding quality young players. :D ahh....

Hiddink meanwhile is going to Russia to coach Russian NT. I believe Russian FA payed huge sum of money to get him.

And i'm sure Park Ji-Sung will be there... and so will Lee Dong-Gook

Hell, i won't be surprised if Lee Dong-Gook scores loads of goals

Korea will do badly if we go back to or usual ways. Our NT was in shambles the past 4 years and only came together(somewhat) when Advocat was hired. After WC06, I'm afraid we'll go back to our crappy form and try to put something together for WC10.

In the long run, if we want KNT success (other than improving K-League), lets not forget that Marcelo Bielsa, ex-Argentianian coach, was the runner-up behind Dick. Bielsa is known for offensive football, not to mention with flair.

Yeah, I was thinking of us hiring South American coach for once because they emphasize on individual skills and movement more than anything though right now, this team REALLY need to improve in defense.

Anyway I do hope KFA makes right choice and for crying out loud, give them the time to know the team instead of saking everytime when they lose big.

So who's planning on going? I'd like to see those four countries myself.

Do Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia all automatically qualify? Won't this screw some of the other countries in the region?

That's right...no Hiddink for them, though!
