All the "expert pundits" and commentators berating Ronaldo clearly haven't seen him play for the past 4 years, this is his game now! It's not that suddenly he's fat or unfit, it's just that he ain't the same player he was back then. And the same can be said for Zidane & Raul, and even Owen! Pretty sure there's something in the water over there (and we assume that wifey has Becks Evian shipped str8 from source to avoid this).
On top of this, whilst this is much more open that Euro 04, the newer generation of skill players are not being given time on the ball, I mean it's not like Ronaldinho, Cristiano or Henry have exactly shone!
95% matchfit is all well and good, but for most players the touch comes in that final 5%, possibly only with form and confidence. Ronaldo will score a great goal in this tourney that'll overshadow is declining form over the years, and the propagandistas on our tele's will try to kid us he's 22 again and they never doubted him.....

 

did anyone notice Pernia's vapors today? they seemed a lot wider than the regular vapors and the Nike swoosh seemed to be whited out.

 

I think it was Nakata who had the insane swoosh on his boots

 

i think nike are banking on the fact that brazil will go all the way or thereabouts...remember in japorea 2002, he wore those limited edition r9's quite late in the tournament.

Nike Mercurial Vapor III Black/Gold

Looks:

10/10 i'm slightly biased towards vapors, but i think the iii's have a really, REALLY nice look to them. out goes all those weird lines and whatnot, in comes a very simple looking boot. that's the best thing about them in my opinion, no flashy dashy stuff going on. especially with the black/gold colourway. it looks very slick in a world where EVERYONE's wearing white/yellow/blue/etc. not that i don't like wearing those flashy colours myself lol! slightly better than the original white/gold combo because those didn't have that 'shine' to it, the black/gold, blue/yellow and pearl/reds have that shiney look which i personally like .

Value:

8/10 i'm going for 8 instead of the full 10 because it is quite expensive, but i guess it's the price you have to pay for such a quality boot.

Comfort:

9/10 as soon as i but the boot on i felt like it just fused with my feet. keeping with the vapor fit, it's quite narrow, but i felt a bit more room than the vapor ii's, hahaha the jury is still out on that. another thing the jury is still out on is the padding at the heel. i have one MEAN blister which, from saturday, still hasn't healed and is looking really icky lol! apple said it's just because i was a vapor iii virgin. hopefully that is so because i really love the boot! the padding itself gives good cushioning, it might be that i got the blisters cause it was so wet that day. we'll see.

Performance:

10/10 absolutely lovely touch! i get the feeling that they've made the boot thinner than the vapor ii's, you really feel like you're playing barefoot. the stud configuration for fg is lovely, they seem to make the boot a bit lower and the fact that the studs at the back are slightly longer than the studs near the front makes your feet inclined a bit. i really like this, gives you great traction and gets you off the mark. the toe end also seems flatter. i never had any problems with my shot...goes off the boot like a bullet, even though it was really wet i never had any trouble with the ball sliding across my feet (lol unless it was my fault!). i did have a problem with the mud sticking to the soles though, had to wash them out and use my hands to swipe the mud off a few times.

Overall evaluation:

10/10. this is one amazing boot. it's light as a feather, solid, offers great touch without compromising shot power and just looks brilliant! it might not be as light as the v1's, but i think it will be WAY more durable. S.Jenkins26's v1's fell apart after a few months! i think the vapors will stay strong. the heel padding might actually be a blessing in disguise for a lot of people who has been complaining about them in the past. however, i think these vapors will need a bit more time to break in as i never had any problems breaking in the vapor i's or ii's, but still not yet set with the vapor iii's.

 

Not meaning to have a go, but does everyone notice that we are all slightly biased in the reviews we give on football boots!
