When will he learn that Claudio and Donovan don't mix. And where is Dempsey when we need some physical presence? Even Albright would have helped in the physical matchup. A midfield of Reyna, DMB and Convey is just not physical enough. Pope was over the hill years ago. Lewis cannot defend. So many problems surfaced as soon as the competition was challenging. When we played weak teams, they were not obvious except to some posters who were shouted down by the Bruce mafia.

At no time, even after the subs came in has there been any sense of urgency on the part of the US.

Donovan and GAM seem to be the only players who want to play. I'd like to see Dempsey in instead of Josh "I f*ck up every chance I get and squander away anything else" Wolff. At least Deuce would try going at the czech players.

 

[1] Initial lineup places Bease on the right with Cherundolo. Lewis and Convey on the left. Weakness on left leads to 1st goal. Inability of Bease to get forward on the right leads to nearly impotent U.S. attack.

[2] Seeing the inability of the U.S. to attack up the flanks Bruce brings on.... JOB and Johnson?? Another playmaker to pass the ball around in the middle of the field? Johnson does ok... but midfield is still useless. Lobbing long ball after long ball up to Cech. No usefull attacks. No attacks on the ground. No running at defenders. Just passing the ball side to side like a bunch of crabs.

[3] Seeing the continued inability of the U.S. to attack on the ground we bring in Josh Wolf. Baby Jesus weeps.

[4] Attempting to make use of MLS' silly goalkeeper sub rule Bruce subs out Keller for Dempsey and puts Reyna in goal.

 

It ain't Bruce's fault for the lineup... we don't have the players anywhere
