Gotta put in EJ...we need another forward. Take out either Beasley or Convey.

O'Brien is needed as well. He's the only guy we have who makes inventive passes against a team packing it back.

mastroeni out johnson in for attacking purposes. job for beasely. balls we need them at the moment, run at those massive czechs instead of playing around them. dinky ball works in concacaf but in europe it causes too much congestion.

They are trying to....but through the air. Common logic would be that if you see that the Czechs are like trees all over the field, and your air passes are not working, then why not keep the ball on the ground? It's like at tiems they are forcing the issue in the air. I'm sorry, but we don't have Nowitzky and Duane Wade out there! Beat them on the ground IMHO.

BTW is it always needed to have a coach go another four years? Meaning when a coach does well in a previous World Cup why does he have to stay for another? Term limitation?

Absolutely agree. And the reason for this is Arena!! This 1st healf is clearly his doing. We needed Landon in the MF. We needed another forward with BMB. Having 2 deep MF and all that space is just to inviting to bang long balls all day. It doesn't help either when 90% of the long balls are not near BMB and the few that are there he doesn't win. Horrible tactics, horrible preperation. At least in '98 we could blame an awful mistake by a bad player. This is just a woefully overmatched side in terms of gameplan!

Anybody else notice Beasley screaming at his teammates as well?

So, if we're sunk, let's go out there and play like we mean it the second half. I hope Arena's got lighters under the players asses in the locker room.

thank you! Convey's done very little. I agree with Dempsey. He and GAM need to sub in right now!

We can still take this game.

This is what I kep thinking. Why are we playing so much over the top? It looks planned, not like we were forced int it.

Best USA player so far: Donovan for providng the only bit of attacking bite that USA so desperately need

Worst USA player so far: Onyewu for being hardly there.

I see we've got 55% possession. That's something, at least. Now for some shots on goal.

WE are playing way to slow, Beasley and Cherendolo are playing bad, gooch. The czechs are gonna sit back and wait for the counter, Balls on the ground not the air. stop playing short corners, run at them tire them out, we have speed.

I don't see it, chancre. Landon has just completely disappeared. Sure, his teammates have some responsibility to get him into the flow, but come on now. He hasn't done jack.

And Reyna? Like I said, one helluva shot. I'll give him that 100%. But look at what he's doing off the ball. Jogging, at best. With one exception he hasn't shown any energy off the ball.

Don't get me wrong. So far we have 11 guys walking through the game. Nothing out of any of them. I'll keep KK a mini-break because he couldn't do anything about either goal. All I saw out of him though was resignation after both goals. Collapsing to the ground. He needs to be up and screaming at these f'ers.

We need to see Clint out there starting at 46'. I'm no Clint fan boy, but that guy is 100% hustle. Someone needs to let these guys know that this is actually a Cup game. Not a run-up friendly. Clint can do that.

Except that it will often switch the foot that he is playing the ball with. Switching sides makes the most difference to two touches: the first and the last. I don't have video right now, but that is usually the case with DMB.

Bull*****. That's not my intent and you know it. Your logic says we shouldn't even play the second half.

    Bruce,
Please place Pablo and his crappy cleats with Beasley on the bench. Switch to the 4-4-2 Diamond with Reyna at the base and Donovan at the tip. Put Clint on the right and EJ up front with McBride.

I've never been so "not down" after being down 2-0 in my life.

We ARE still in this, but the Bruce must outcoach Bruckner outta the stadium in half number two.

    C'mon US!!!!!

This was appreciated during a moment in dire need of laughter. Before this I was seriously contemplating heading down to the basement with a length of rope and doing the step, stiff, and swing.
