Actually, I like the movie version of this part. It added something to the story while the book was laying down the facts. There was no feeling or whatever you called it in the book version. I also read Bloodline so I knew what Dan Brown wanted to say. It was lecture of something that I had heard of before. I thought the most signflicant part of the book was uninteresting.
I'm kind of sick of this because are R.E teachers are yap yap yap on how this is wrong. It's only a bit of entertainment for goodness sake.
It also fit the image of Langdon being someone who was interested in learning the truth and willing to look at both sides as opposed to Teabing who was a lunatic obsessed with his version of truth. In that sense, Howard's treatment made more sense. But that statement may be giving Howard more credit than he is due because Dan Brown is also listed as Co-Executive Producer hence he may have had a say in that change as well. Interesting that Brown continues to maintain silence through it.
Saw it yesterday. Thought it was OK and a decent popcorn flick. Nothing earth-shattering. I thought McKellen and Bettany turned in the best acting performances of the movie. I haven't read the book (as I disagree with many of Brown's conclusions), though I may pick up an el cheapo copy sometime soon. I was kind of surprised that it was down around 22% on Rotten Tomatoes, as it wasn't that bad.
I don't rely on rottentomatoes.com as much as I did a few yrs back when it was spot on. Since the percentage is the avg of critics reviews, I think the numbers are skewed to favor indie or geek flicks and punish bigger films or movies w/ a more familiar cast. Just saw X-Men 3. Not great but worth the price of admission. It had a lot of "B" stars in key roles most here would recognize. A little too much product placement. There's a surprise ending like Neopolean Dynomite after the credits that opens for more sequels.
It was rhetorical. I know you don't read Agatha Christie, chapulin, because all they have at the McAllen public library is disney VCR videos dubbed in Spanish.
saw this movie friday night,,,,kinda drawn out and boring in spots,,,,,i'd give it 2.5 stars out of 5
