    1-1

100% of the blame for this debacle is on Colin Clarke. 100%.

I've lost absolutely all patience with the man. The talent on our roster is wasted on him. I like to think I have given him a fair chance, but I just can't take his ineptitude any more.

    FIRE CLARKE!

CC mismanaged this. After FCD went up 1-nil, he had the team go into a complete shell. After the match, he said that they should have attacked more....wow, Sherlock, what an epiphany!

I think I would rather give up an equalizer trying to get another than to try and hold a one goal lead for 80 minutes when the opposition is down thier two best players for most of that time.

    ......this feels like a loss......

I am sorry to see that happen to Goodson. He was solid all game and then got unlucky on the OG. I know Clark benched him for the other tough game he had with the OG but I still think that guy should be on the field. I hope Clark doesn't give up total hope on him. Clarence is a good guy and a solid player.

Anyone else notice that the only time we get an entertaining game where our team is allowed to play instead of bunker and bloot is when we give up the first goal?

I don't want to hear a damned word about Goodson. When you stop playing (again) as soon as you have a 1-0 lead, and then take out your most dangerous attacking forward at 70' and then your most dangerous attacking midfielder immediately after, you are asking for exactly this to happen.

Never mind the total domination by Houston in the possession game (again!), or the repeated roasting of Vanney out left (again!). Somehow Clarke found a way to top his usual incompetence in this game with his idiotic substitutions. Left to their own devices, the players might have found a way to win, but Clarke made damned sure that that wasn't going to happen today.

    FIRE CLARKE NOW!

Goodson was solid all game long and was just unlucky on that OG. On the broadcast they said that they were going to bring him off, and then left him on for that corner.

That is why you don't second guess, my friends.

I look forward to Mulrooney getting into form. Maybe the midfield won't be as bad as it has been.

Being "as bad as it has been" is one thing. Choosing not to play is another.

You think it's a coincidence that we can score goals against quality defenses like KC and Houston early in games, but then suddenly can't make it across the midfield stripe? A coincidence that we are fully capable of scoring multiple goals in games where we give up the first goal, but are always nursing a precarious 1-0 lead in games where we score first? It's not coincidence, it's what we are coached to do.

Beautify Dallas Soccer. FIRE COLIN CLARKE NOW!

I don't think this is knee jerk anymore. I've seen this before all second half of last year. This attitude goes up to the top. there is something wrong here.

You could be worse off--you could have Sampson.

I'm ready for a new coach also. Bunkering with a one goal lead is never, ever good coaching tactics. The ref sucked, and Cooper was fairly invisible. Mulrooney has to get a lot better.

omfg you are fed up with a coach that already on two occassions this season had made late subs that gave you guys 2 wins based on those subs...Cooper in season opener and Pitchlokan (or watever) on that overtime goal...

it pisses me off to see you guys complaining about your coach and ur in first place overall in MLS "single" table. Just pause and think of us RSL fans

It is called soccer and you are knee jerking way beyond what is called for. You play defense when you are ahead and play offense when you are behind. What coach are you going to get and what coach would not put more defensive players in when you are ahead. If you think putting more offensive players in when you are ahead, then you don't know how to play soccer. I agree don't bunker, but putting defensive players in is not idiotic and incompetent. Firing the coach when you are at the top of the league is idiotic. (Unless it is Sampson, which I am betting one year from now Lalas will replace him).

You haven't given him a fair chance. If they lose in the first round again, I am all on board your band wagon. But you don't fire the coach this early, unless the team is a complete debacle. And FC Dallas is not.

I am no tactician but for what it is worth, this is the first soccer game I have ever fallen asleep at. I mean head down, lights out. Around 86 minute, my wive bumps me as my head is down, sitting in 108.

    Awful, awful game.

Dude what school of soccer are you from? Taking off the team's most two dangerous attackers at minute 70 and 75 were big time gaffes. You go for the jugular when you're up 1-0 to try and put the other team away. Clarke pissed away two points and his tactics(hitting long balls all game long) suck.

I frankly don't care about the playoffs. Really, I think the whole playoff system in MLS is boring. I'd take the brimstone and the Houston series over big success in the playoffs. Seriously.

What I want is entertaining soccer, and Colin has to be careful. It has been good so far, and this was an off day, but the subs should be about getting in and moving the ball. If I have only scored 1 goal i am thinking about getting some of the threats in. And not taking two of my offensive threats and a decent guy in the air out.

I'm so tired of Colin Goran Clarkeson. I'm tired of the long ball style. I'm tired of the immediate bunker whenever we go up a goal, or play on the road. And I'm tired of him waiting and waiting to make a sub.

I'm a bit tired of Goodson and his bag too.

Was at the game, moved around watching it, and was pretty disappointed with the whole display, esp the second half.
The team seems a bit disjointed.
    Not sure why that is.
Houston is not that good, although spirited.
We are good, but oftentimes not that spirited.

It was SO FREAKIN HOT today and the boys looked like they were feeling the heat and the 3 games in 1 week. CC (IMO) did blow this game - I hate the bunker mentality! 2 goals up - maybe.............playing with only 10 men............ok.
Poor Goodson............sux to be him right now! Will Gbandi ever come back? Didn't see him at the game. Did he play in the reserve match? How did Cassar play?
Glad to see all the Houston fans that traveled.

Don't worry the FO has heard your all your complaints and therefore scheduled Chivas at 5pm in June and then DC United also at 5pm (per MLSnet) for July 4th (so it is still light out for the fireworks show!!!). Umm it is even hotter at that time of day.
Idoits is all I can say. Let's see if we can really drive off our fans with more day games!!

Probably because FCD hasn't used the same lineup twice this year (per the broadcast, anyway; they could be wrong, but I doubt it).

I am lobster girl right now. LOL I'm not built to cheer during the afternoon games. I wanted to crawl under the bench and take a nap. Heidi- Can I trade tickets with one of the Mini Inferno dudes for day games? Seriously...

Gbandi did play in the reserve game. He looked good to me. We need him back in the mix of the backline!

Cassar played well. Made some great dives and smart decisions in coming off the line. He was saved by the soccer gawds a couple of times when Traffic Cone shots careened off the posts. And the young backline was listening to the directions he was giving pretty well too.

Dax really impressed me. I think he'll complement Mulrooney nicely. Good hustle out of that one.

Baby Hoops won against the Baby Traffic Cones 3-0. I missed the first goal while going to get some water. Second goal was a great attacking buildup (lots of passing...which the 1st team needs to learn) with a cracker of a finish by AA.

3rd goal was a PK in the last 5 minutes or so by Abe Thompson. The PK was awarded when the Traffic Cone's keeper took out Oduro on a breakaway into the box. The keeper was given a red card for his efforts. So one of the youngins on the field was given the keeper jersey and stuck between the pipes for the PK.

Gbandi played, had a good game (as did Cassar). Reserves won 3-0 in a much more spirited effort than the day's first game.

Everybody might as well stop with the curtain jerking about Clarke. I think it would take one of two things to happen for that to occur:

    * FCD does not win MLS Cup (and this is a fairly high expectation, as sports go)
    * The team has a huge slump on the level of last season's collapse

Other than that, the cat above has it: we're still in first place, there is a lot of this season still to go, no need to be seeking out the thorns in the rose bush just yet.

And here's one that Gina, James and the good doctor_j will get a chuckle over...

Its not the right player but I posted about my fun at the reserve game and Seany Boy in the CPC made this:
