    Aurelio on his way

took away from Madrid and Villarreal.

Aurelio could provide direct competition for Riise and be bad news for Warnock and Traore. He can also function as a wing back if we use 3 at the back.

So you're saying is you'd rather have Morientes than RvN? Wow.

I like Aurelio. He'll add quality depth to our squad. I'm not totally sold on his ability to defend, but he's great going forward and can hit some wicked shots. That doesn't sound anything like Riise, does it? :D

An in-form Morientes, something we'll probably never see, would be preferable over him. I hate RvN, especially an aging one.

i thought cisse was doing well in the few recent games scoring some goals and running up and down on the pitch etc. maybe we'd just need to be a bit more patience just like kewell, gave him some more time to develop after all it's quite expensive to buy him in the first place. we'll have to consider the return of the invesment.

Re: Liverpool wants to swap players

RvN is an old-fashioned striker who is blessed with anticipation, off the ball skills, and the innate ability to just be in the right place at the right time. He's not quick, not particularly strong or powerful in the air, and for him, technique is something that happens to other people. Considering his age, his bionically rebuilt knee, and the money he would no doubt demand, I really cannot see much of a difference between him and an in-form Fowler.

Well, except that the in-form Fowler has flair and techinque coming out of his arse.

Oh, and if you're not good enough to play for Man Utd, you're certainly not good enough to play for Liverpool. Not now, not 20 years ago, not ever.

Damn, I was thinking of him when I wrote that, but figured no one would remember. :)

He's also one of the few players who managed to move to Everton and not incur the wrath of the Anfield faithful.

    I didn't know either...
As a tip for images, just try right click-properties and sometimes the player name will be in the filename.

KEEP CISSE!!! Get rid of Morientes!!! And GET DARREN BENT!!!! - Now would be the perfect time for him to want to come to a bigger club. He wasn't picked for England and we could say "If you were playign for a big club like us in the Champs League you would have gotten picked."

Darren Bent would be good, as he's a good goal-poacher (which is really the type of striker we're looking for), and has proven himself in the Premiership. I'm just worried about him being a one-hit wonder, sort of like Saha.

One-hit wonder? No chance. He's been scoring goals in the Championship for 2 seasons before this EPL season. And he's only 22. He also has 9 goals in 14 appearances for England U-21 with only 5 of them being starts. I cannot believe Sven did not call him up.

Bellamy would be a terrific player to add. Sort of like Cisse version 2 that has just as much pace but can also finish and play cleverly. I am just worried about his attitude. This guy has some serious issues that need to be dealt with.

    He is crap IMO.

Cisse Crouch and Fowler are better. Darren Bent can rival those three he's the only forward I would want. Apart from world class obvious (Shevchenko, Henry, etc.)

Oh jesus. now everyone loves Cisse. too bad he's gonna go back to France because your fans and the English press shat on him.

Hes going back to FRANCE BECAUSE HE CAN'T CUT IT IN THE PREM, one game doesn't make him any better then he was a couple of weeks ago, which was , lazy, selfish and couldn't score in a brothel. He will be a great hit in france where he can wander around like a pima donna, as for shat on him he did that to Liverpool, taking his wages every week and giving us a lot of very under par performances.

Show me how he's any worse than our other strikers. He's the fastest person on the squad, he obviously has the capability (his goal today was outstanding), and he can play well out on the wing.

He was also, barring Sissoko, the youngest player that played for us today.

Cisse has definitely polarized the posters here on our boards and no doubt all LFC fans.

I don't think he has to go if it is solely based on merits or talents. He has done an average job for us at best with some overly inept performances against the top clubs. But he has performed better than Morientes, Mellor, FSP, Le Tallec, and at certain times Crouch.

I think his reluctance to play a continued supporting role at the club, his eccentric behavior, and his inability to adapt to Rafa's philosophies/coaching methods are key in deciding his fate. Those three things may do him in. Which is unfortunate for him. Maybe he can hang on here for one more year and show us he's capable of of the 14million we spent on him.

You're being way too harsh there man, Cisse has proved that he belongs in this club, he has such great pace and is learning with every game. His selfishness has substantially decreased as well.

And he's scored more than our other strikers, with less playing time...he would be a nice supporting striker.
