Of course we'll have to wait until Monday but if there's any truth to the rumors about Zanetti, to me it would be a bad move by Pekerman. Cufre, Coloccini and even Scaloni all put together can not replace Zanetti's experience and everything he brings on the field and in the locker room...............

Why did Pekerman not bring Zanetti to the 2 day camp in Madrid? Cambiasso was selected for it.

Guys Lets get real here and share thoughts about those 16 players whether u like them or not just tell what u think about them?

Pato: good saves most of the times, but bad placement and screws up sometimes.
Franco: the best Argentina currently have!
Ayala: leadership, experience and also good defense line control!
Heinze: rough, harsh not easy to get around.
Coloccini: use to be one of the best we had in 2004 but ever since peker took over his form went down badly! he tackles good also good in air balls and man marking but doesnt use his brains much if he did he would be a great defender
Burdisso: great in 2004 everyone thought he was the next Ayala but not anymore he's good but screws up sometimes.
Millito: one of the best good replacement for any!
Cufre: many ppl dont like him i see him as a good defender harsh, rough, and not easy to play with kind of like the Heinze type of player plays on both sides left and right
Scaloni: i dont know why he's even selected all do respect but not national level.
Cambiasso: nice passes good center control also does well help cover the backline could play as a backup for Mascherano or a left midfielder also.
Lucho: one of the best midfielders today! center controler nice passes does what it takes to help the front line.
Riquelme: no need to comment (The Mystro)
    Messi: Argenina's world cup surprise.
Crespo: if u ever need to score goals just call this man he'll get the job done one of the best world wide.
Maxi Rod: good side player fast quick and nice crosses dribbles a little and really hard to mark

    Pato:
Pros: Sometimes makes really good saves, especailly inside the peanalty area.
Cons: Too slow, very slow reflexes, never confident in dead ball situation, i always fear the worst when ball floats in air , i doubt pato, fumbles a lot, doesnt make clean saves, i have seen lot of goals socred him of rebounds.

    Franco:
Pros: Looks quite astute and confident, inspires confidence in air, i feel he is lot better then pato
Cons: Havent played much for national team

    Ayala:
Pros: Excellent Leader, great in air(we really need his experience here), can control the defence, lead them, still one of the best in business
Cons: Prone to injury, Slow, we need some fast defenders beside him, especailly when there is a counter attack.

    Heinze:
Pros: He was one of best 5 defenders till he was injured, always gives more then 100 percent, team player, work horse, with him and ayala i feel bit realxed.
Cons:Long injury layoff, no match fitness, i doubt he will be started, i think sorin will be lb, which is not good, i think heinze should start, sorin can be lm.

    coloccini:
Pros: Was a great defender some time back
Cons: Very slow, makes some hard tackles at wrong times and concedes lots of freekicks and penalties and has a knack of getting lot of red cards, had a very very poor season, with a player with comeplete low in confidence i dont see anything good for the team, i think peker will start him in the RB, which is totally wrong, the chances are that we will concede lot of goals with a fragile keeper(pato) and poor RB, LB coming from long injury it is very worrying prospect.

    Burdisso:
pros: had a good season in boca and now in inter he is ok, not great, i dont think peker will start him.
Cons: Gets lot of cards, i dont think he is quick.

    Millito:
Pros: Gud choice made by peker, excellent player, i think he will start with Ayala in defence. I would have loved to have ayala milito and gonzalo on the startting line of our defence, but i think peker will use colocccini ayala milito and sorin.
cons: Sometimes is caguht out of position

    Cufre:
Pros: Decent Defender, nothing great, versatile.
Cons: He is an average player, but playing ok in Roma

    Scaloni:
Pros: One of the Peker boys
Cons: Worst decision mad(e) by peker, Please bring on Zanetti Peker, if he feels age as a factor, i wouldnt mind seeing Ferrai instead of Scaloni, when i watched in EPL he looks really lost, hope atleast peker dosent start him.

    Cambiasso:
Pros: Had a great season in Inter, good player not great one,but good , he alwyas performs well for inter.
Cons: Hasnt done much for national team(mostly beacuse he was played as DM, Actually he is a good CM)

    Lucho:
Pros: Had a superb season in Porto, great player, very verstaile, excellent passer, good shooter, good team person
Cons:I heard he will be used as cover for Riquelme(using him as a playmaker), it is a rumor, but i hope it never happens, even though he is good i dont think he can be a true playmaker.

    Riquelme:
Pros: Great Player, excellent in dead ball situation, controls the game, when he is on song, we win most of the times.
Cons: He is slow, when oppents put up 2 or 3 players on him and shut him up,he really becomes lost.Has a injury(back), so i dont think he will be 100 percent for all the matches, so we need a backup for him.

    Messi:
Pros: Messiah, fast furious ,excellent player, will help riquelme a lot and also if
ARgentina needs to win the worldcup he should fire.
Cons: He is still a kid, oppents can come hard at him, his finishing is still not great, coming from a injury.

    Crespo:
Pros: Great player, good team person, he positions himself beautifully.
Cons: Outside the box he is no good, cant make seering runs, easily losses balls.

    Maxi Rod:
Pros: good side player fast quick and nice crosses dribbles a little and really hard to mark. Scores a lot
    Cons: Coming from a injury.

The most players (of this group of 16) will be in the World Cup squad. Zanetti who can stay at home and invite Scaloni would be sad. (i hope that we are all wrong with this and Zanetti will go to Germany this summer).

From the 16 players they invited i should send Burdisso and Scaloni back to their house. Cufre is maybe usefull for a place on the bench. and make minutes when someone is suspended or injured. Gabriel Heinze? Long time not play, make minutes with a youth team from Manchester United and not sure if he is ready for playing at the Copa Mundial.

Samuel, Tevez and Mascherano also have to be in the squad. Rodrigo Palacio is on fire and would be a better option in attack then Cruz or Milito.

Youngstars like Gago and Aguero are not in the planns of Pekerman, never gave them a invitation before so i dont think that they are in the World Cup squad.

During the River v Libertad game, Benedetto dropped what they described as a "bomb" ... Ustari would be in and Lux out.
