i flew icelandair last spring from baltimore to paris. they flew a 757 to iceland and then another 757 to paris. it sucked. the plane did not have any amenities that aa or united has on its transatlantic flights buuuut the flights are generally inexpensive.
How much does it cost for train from Amsterdam to Cologne ? and How long ? Are you using raileurope? I am thinking of doing the same thing since my trip from San Diego to Hamburg has a stopover at Amsterdam, and might as well train it from Amsterdam to Hamburg. I would assume train from Amsterdam to Hamburg ~ the same as Amsterdam to Cologne.
I'm training from amsterdam to leipzig (hopefully with a ton of oranje fans) on the 10th for the nederland-serbia game on the 11th ... should be a blast ... I'm using a railpass ... reservations cost $22 ... still not sure if I am going to get one ...
I'm totally confused on the train thing. Anybody who can explain it to me in simple English, let me know.
I hear its decent, just like BMI or Iberia or whatever. I'll be on Aerlingus for Madrid to Dublin on the 17th of this month. I'm also taking it from Cork to London after that.
Lots of cheap flights from Berlin to London and back on Skyscanner, including what appears to be a daily RyanAir flight for 18 euros from Berlin to London. http://www.skyscanner.net/es/eur/vu...n-en-junio-2006-y-junio-2006.html?charttype=1
The pieces have finally come together (i.e. tickets) and now I've started looking for flights from Boston/NYC . OUCH! BOS/NYC - Frankfurt 6/16 or Munich 6/20 Frankfurt - BOS/NYC 6/28 Anyone have advice on where to hunt for decent airfares? Thanks!
Try Condor.de - you might have to drive to LA or Vegas, but I've seen fares for $500 cheaper than that. Edit: From Vegas to Hamburg: 29th to the 13th (no returns between 6th and 13th) = 494 + 594 = $1100. Or 25th to the 6th = 410 + 504 = $914 Or : Vegas to Frankfurt (29th-13th) = $900 Vegas to Frankfurt (29th-6th) = $816 www.condor.de It was LTU that is opening LAX service this summer, not condor. Still, if you can drive to Vegas with cheap fares this might be worth it.
When I try Singapore Air now, it makes me fly from New York to Frankfurt via SINGAPORE! The cheapest I can find right now is Iceland Air for $984. I really hope I can find something cheaper than that.
$984 is pretty good this late in the game. I was particular about my dates and was ecstatic to still get something under 900.
I found tickets from Washington DC to Frankfurt (FRA) for $821 ! try this website, they sell wholesale seats at a discounted rate: www.farecrawler.com
you just have to keep playing with the departure and return dates. For example, currently out of DCA to FRA: June 9, return June 18: $933 June 9, return June 19: $863 Good luck
Anyone still trying to get flights out of the Northeast, try the Aerlingus from JFK to Dublin / Ryanair to Frankfurt combination that people have mentioned on here before. The prices are still looking pretty good, I just got a round trip for $704 total.
I just booked Dallas to London on American for $894/ea and we're gonna take Ryanair from London to Berlin for $70/ea.
Delta, JFK to Dublin, 441 r/t. Then Ryanair I guess, but Berlin is far from Gelsenkirchen. May fly into Eindhoven which is pretty close.... A question about Ryanair. I see they have "web fare" flights for .99(pounds)? plus about 20 in taxes and fees. How can they make any money on that? Is that for real? Am I misreading something?
You have to pay for pretty much anything in the air, and make sure your baggage is under the weight limits. Hefty fee per kilo if they're over.
Hang out in Berlin for a night or two, there will be tons of parties there, especially all the Brazilians gearing up for their opener. It's only a 4 hour 30 min train from Berlin to Gelsenkirchen. Or you could fly to DUS on www.flydba.com or on www.luthansa.com. Just some options. Were actually are spending the weekend in Berlin before we head to Gelsenkirchen. Options for traveling in Germany, other than train (often cheaper too): www.flydba.com www.lufthansa.com www.airberling.com
