I was watching Fox Football Friday a few minutes ago and I swear they said that EJ had broken his clavical??? I wasn't paying full attention and I can't find mention of it anywhere. Anybody have any information that might confirm or deny this???
Re: EJ Injured again??? If it's true than that sucks. I was looking foward to seeing him play this weekend. It won't be the same game if he isn't playing.
Re: EJ Injured again??? They were talking about Jonathan Spector.. I was watching.. They were wrong about it being a broken clavicle as it is a separated shoulder that will need surgery.. http://www.soccertimes.com/americans/2006/apr21a.htm
Re: EJ Injured again??? OK..Thanks for the info. Didn't mean to create a false alarm, but I really hope EJ can stay healthy and have a great world cup. I figured we would have heard something if he had gotten hurt. I'll go back to drinking now...thx
They also mentioned that that rumor made no sense as MLS had already turned down Benfica's offer of about 6 million for him..
Eh... 2.5 mil... clavicle... they're close. I can understand how you'd mix those two up. I'M JK DON'T HATE ME BIGNARDS!!!
IIRC, didn't you claim that the whole $6 million bid was planted by Eddie's agent? Do you think MLS failed to refute the $6 million figure to hopefully draw an actual bid in that range from another club? Or perhaps MLS HQ just didn't care what kind of info the public believed to be correct?
the game in much of europe is very crooked and some times the crooks view the USA as a somewhat naieve, untapped market....and seek to tap into this market to feather their own, already substantial nests. There are a couple of portuguese blokes with an intimate knowledge of the inner workings of MLS and serious connections in Portugal....now it's reasonably well known that I myself am a bit of a "conspiracy theorist" as well as a sceptic of the first order....I have a pretty good idea of how this plays out but certainly couldn't proove anything....I have written about it in a memoir I've just finished and hope to get published....as it was stuff like this (not the same, times have changed a bit) that helped bring about the demise of the NASL....and I was involved in the NASL for fourteen years...I would be happy to discuss details in private but not go into too much on these boards....
That's understandable. Rumors can spread pretty quickly here, and sometimes go on to make it into the mainstream media. Good luck with the book -- I look forward to reading it when it goes to print.
