The match will be the first time any new signings play in blue, and Chelsea will bring the full first team.

You're not only the president, you're a client as well.

    ;)

Thanks to all who are giving updates on what US Blues are doing. For some reason, I haven't been able to log into Yahoo groups since this announcement, and your info is absolutely invaluable.

it was my understanding that after babs left the us blues kind of went out the window and we became more dependent of our own geographic regions with the broader chelsea in america being the umbrella group.

for instance, to get our discounted cfc membership you were either ny blues, dc blues, midwest blues, tx blues, etc.....

i believe our section is going to be around based on our row seating, much like the last few years of getting a section all to ourselves. front row back to xx row. also somewhere close to section 8. which will be fun.

We can start another thread about this, but while I understand the need for geographic representation, a stronger overall organization is needed.

I tire quickly of the NY Blues appearing to be the only supporters in the US.

    I digress.

Jjayg, are we gonna be ready to roll in our section or what? :D

i agree. it does confuse things. but i think that is a result more from groups working together rather than an overall us organization.

What about if you are not a part of a geographic supporters club. I am on the West Coast and there is no organization. And US-Blues hasnt been updated for a very long time? Would it be possible to buy tickets with another region?

Haha i love watching MLS and chicago is the team i follow, so i didnt want to dis on fire fans. I just meant it as sarcasm because it is an allstar game. I meant I want to sit with chelsea supporters and not mls teams supporters.

The website hasn't been updated, but the group has been active.

And Timbers Army makes an absolute mockery of most of the MLS fans - except La Barra and Section 8 of course. ;)

what we are trying to do is buy a big block as a group. all the regional together. since all the regional together is the us blues in a sense.

unfortunately the fire have not been that great with keeping us informed but we are hoping to get some sort of call in number to reserve seats today. i just don't know how many more messages we can leave before we go a bit nuts.

aside from the email group i have not seen much action from all of us as a group in that form since last summer when babs stepped down and we all sort of went to the regional system. this system has been going very well for the lot of us but banding together is turning out to be a bit hairy.

I'm trying to get tickets right next to the Chelsea bench which wont be the supporters section. But of course I will migrate over to you guys for a portion of the game. And even better still...tailgaiting!!

There is a slight chance that my in-laws from Japan will be making thier first ever trip to the US during this match and if so I might just bring them along. It might be interesting to watch Japanese farmers already emersed in culture shock try and comprehend what the hell is going on at this match. :D

Dave, I don't know what you are hearing but I don't think you will be getting any seats before the presale to season ticket holders is over (May 3rd I think). I sent a long email to Eddie regarding everything i've heard on the subject and I'll let him disseminate as much of that information he wants to because i'm not sure where you guys are at with your avenues. But I wouldn't count on hearing anything until the pre-sale is over.

    Greetings all...

I'm in meetings all day today but here are a couple of thoughts on the thread so far (I'll jump back in over the weekend and chat more)...

Chelsea in America: This is, always has been, and as far as I know and am concerned will be down the road an "umbrella" setup -for want of a description - to allow the different regional groups to work together where a national presence or initiative is appropriate. Is it not intended to be an official club and does not look to take any authority from or usurp the activities or existence of the regional clubs.

Reginal Clubs: These are the official supporters clubs and are the heart of Chelsea's official support in America. They will continue to be focus for membership, local game watching, trips to the UK and all other activities that are typical and appropriate for an official club - which is most things. Again, there is no intent for the "Chelsea in America" to userp any power or authority at all from the regional clubs.

Summer tour: We (Midwest Blues, on behalf of Chelsea in America) have been working for some time now with the Fire to reserve a section for all Chelsea supporters. It appears that the Fire are having a serious left and right hand communocation breakdown so some other people are hearing from different people at the Fire. As soon as we know anything we will communicate it to the regional clubs and post it to the Chelsea in America web site (www.ChelseaInAmerica.com)

US Blues and other regional clubs: We realise that since Babs stepped down things have gone quiet and I am happy to work with any interested people on getting that going again. Further more we would love to establish official clubs in some of the areas of the country that are not represented (on the asumption that the US Blues are really a DC/Atlantic state catchment). With a little luck we can find a few people this summer who are happy to step up and help. There are a number of us who are more than happy to help get you going so if you fancy getting involved please don't think you are on your own. As for the NY Blues, while we have had some differences of opinion we also agree in the fundamental principle of spreading the word of Chelsea across America and do work together on national issues such as the summer tour.

So, that's enough from me for now... I'll leave you with an unashamed plug for the ChelseaInAmerica.com site as a first point of entry if you are interested in Chelsea across North America and lookin to find your way to the right regional club. If you want to step up and get involved, at any level, then please speak up and let's talk.

    Andy

Shared tail-gate with the Chciago fans.

For those of you who were in DC last year we had a very succesfull tail-gate with the Bara-Brava (sorry if I butchered the spelling) so it would be great to do the same thing in Chicago. I don't know the people involved but hopefully Dave you can get the right people talking?

I'm well aware. Last year I was the contact for everyone on here for tickets to all the games. Most people here are NOT part of our group and have no other way of getting info. I'll be seeing the Neats tomorrow and was going to speak to them then about how we go about getting tickets. I am assuming that we will go through the Midwest Blues since it's their territory but I could be wrong.

That's because we're the first, the largest and most active supporters club. Period.

Well it seems that I am relieved of getting tickets. Everyone who wants them for the tour can go through Andy.
