    Congrats to Arsenal!

Don' t worry guys if Toure gets another yellow Djourou will replace him :p Just jk but both Senderos and Djourou will be the future :)

Henry is for sure a player that Arsenal can not play without even if tonight wasn' t his best game. However, great passes!

i was at school during this game so i didn't see it, (i got my friend's dad to TIVO it so i'm content) but i've got to say i was impressed by Henry against Portsmouth and West Brom. he was creating chances for other players and looking like a threat to score whenever he was near the ball. he could probably do much, much more but i think that the danger he does create merits his place in the starting XI. he's in the Champions League semifinal, so i don't think he's got his mind on the babes in Barcelona. Henry scores first in the second leg and gets ready to play in front of his compatriots.

Toure must play in the second leg. you have to win the semifinal to advance so i'd rather that we sent the youth team to Paris than the Villareal first team.

Any one slaggin' off Henry's performance needs to have their head examined. The guy was a LONE striker. But he was an ever present menace nonetheless and we won thanks to his play.

Where can I watch this game? Today I programmed my tivo to record the Setanta Sport channel for the match, according to the tivo tv guide, but it showed on ESPN2 instead. (Why is there always confusion in the TV Guide!?) I don't see ESPN showing replay, not any other channel (fox, gol, setanta, spanish). Any where I can download?

    Arsenal... Arsenal FC!

The lads delivered tonight, and even though I think we should've won the game by 3 or 4 to 'nil we cannot get complacent or arrogant. The fact is our lads delivered a professional performence tonight and I believe we we will get a shut out in Spain en-route to the Final...

Hleb... my man... My favorite Arsenal player, but all 11 played solid tonight.

And what can you say about Toure?? Nothing much, except BEAUTIFUL, JOGO BONITO! :D

    COME ON ARSENAL!

I would assess our performence but I gotta review for a an AP test from 6-8 PM, so I'll catch you all later... HAVE A GOOD NIGHT GUNNERS FANS!

My satellite receiver has been dying, and the DVR didn't tape the match, even though it says it did. I'm supposed to receive the new box tomorrow, but too late for me. Anybody got a link for a torrent?

Would have to agree. Henry was everywhere. His constant running, hounding the backs for possesion, holding possesion, his clever first touchs and passes. Thing of beauty...

    Re: Gilberto rules

On Vieira - selling him was a senseless risk that de-stabilised the team and particularly Henry. I would say we have just about gotten away with it if we make it to Paris and win it, or if we over-haul s***s for fourth. But its still a real risk as of right now. As for the strikers we have you can't seriously think they can carry us on their own. Henry is in top form the best offensive player in the world if not the best player period in the world. Where would we be domestically without him this year? or the past several years?

If he comes out and says I don't want to be here, fine, and thanks so much for so much you've given to us. But short of that, I won't go with "no man is bigger than the team" because it isn't that simple here with everything at stake now and the next several years...

Good effort all around from the lads tonite but I would feel a lot better if we had nicked a second....i didnt sense that we really wanted it at the end and that we were more concerned w/ giving up an away goal. Another shutout was brilliant, villareal never looked like scoring in the run of play and if they play like that at home they've got no chance. And I really like our chances if we get an away goal, I dont see villareal scoring 3.

Probably the best game I've ever seen Gilberto play. Easily MOTM for me.

The AR on the East Stand side had a weak match and I really thought that the center ref pre-judged Villareal as a bunch of long-haired, operatic, diving whiners and called a pretty one-sided match in favor of Arsenal. Of course, I did lose track of how many times I hit the fast forward button to get past all the times the Villareal players were rolling around on the ground with injuries both real and imagined.

I don't know about that, bringing on two fowards for two midfielders at the end of the game tells me that Wenger wanted another.

I thought the refereeing was pretty fair. I appreciated that the ref wasn't having any of the pathetic diving from the Villareal players. They only screwed themselves with all their play acting, but it was really a disgrace. That kind of stuff gives the whole sport a bad name.

i think the 1-0 will be enough for arsenal, the away goal is everything and they really needed one.villareal will be in a tricky position cos if arsenal score they have to play all out attack needing 3.

im still not sure about the penalty call...personally id say no penalty.

a lot of diving today. good job the ref was taking much of that crap. i thouht he did a good job - almost a shame hes not going to the world cup.

The referee wasn't consistent at all and when he was telling Jose Mari to get up after getting killed by Gilberto was funny. I think 1-0 is a good result for Villarreal because it could've easily been a lot worse for the Spanish side. I think Villarreal is going to turn things around come the 2nd leg.

Ditched school to see the game with 7 of my best friends.. ordered some 5 pizzas, brought out the coke, and we were satisfied...

    PIZZA NEVER TASTED SO GOOD!

I walked out of the room to help a friend, and Arsenal scored! Talk about good luck if you look at it from my stance..

Very good professional performence from the boys..

Riquelme couldn't be seen, a true testament to our hard working midfielders and defense. Every time he got the ball 2-3 players were on him.. Like in the second half, when he got the ball on the left Arsenal side, and Eboue and Toure were immediately on him...

Personally I think the officiating was fair. The penalty was a stretch because Gilberto's tackle came from out of the box, and 1 leg of Jose Mari, WHEN THE CHALLENGE was made was outside...

Lehmann's save was truly, truly great in the first half..

It was clearly a foul inside the box regardless.

The ref didn't see it that way. I'm surprised he didn't pull a straight red card for the Rugby tackle on Henry, but i guess you have to take what you get.

Actually a bit off-topic here, but here in the Washington, DC area we've practically got more squirrels than people, and except for the fact that squirrels are well, a bit squirrelly when it comes to crossing the road and tend to get squished in traffic, we seem to peacefully co-exist with them.

I had read that the authorities in London considered them to be an alien, invasive species and had set upon a campaign of extermination for them. I don't know if its true but I've certainly seen fewer and fewer squirrels in Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park each time I go back to London. The one problem with the London squirrels that I've seen is that thanks to handouts from people they are overly tame compared to their US counterparts.
