Unfortunately it looks like much more than just a knock and it could be a torn ligament. This may be the last we've seen of Shearer in the black and white.

    :D :D

I'm so happy. I agree give Roeder the job and appoint a director of futbol to oversee player development.

    Haway the lads!!

Let's all laugh at Sunderland goin down like Monica Lewinsky.

Unfortunately that news can't even help me at this point, if indeed Shearer is finished then it's a sad sad day. My birthday will forever now be synonomous (spelling?) with two legendary footballing dates.

    1) Freddy Adu scores first career goal
    2) Alan Shearer scores last career goal

Isn't this the first time this season it has been positive?

Good result. Glad to see Luque doing something for the club. Hopefully it's the start of something more.

/me proceeds to beat Trackman for believing that some ghana-born savior is going to save the USMNT when he made such a poor showing at the U-19s.

DOn't give me excuses that Adu is going to save US soccer.

Adu proved that he was a flash in the pan cause of his attitude, he EXPECTS to be taht good instead of truly working at it. Chelsea were interested but he ruined his stock by jumping up to the U-19s so quickly.

Anyway, good luck to the boys from now on. Lets get that UEFA cup spot.

There has just been reports of rioting in Sunderland by their own fans!

Fighting with police, wrecking cars busses etc. etc.

Nasty stuff by all accounts just waiting for it to come on the news.

We need an Alan Shearer appreciation thread complete with stories and video clips.

It's a sad day for the club but also the start of a new chapter.

Raise a glass for Big Al!!
