There are still 3 games to play! :)

Lille are 2-0 up against Vitre whilst Calais and Brest is still goalless.

Montpellier v Bordeaux kicks off later.

    Vitré (CFA) 0-2 Lille (L1)
    [Fauvergue 8, Dernis 20]

    Montpellier (L2) 1-0 Bordeaux (L1)
    [Bugnet 36]

Calais (CFA) 1-0 Brest (L2) [aet]
    [Hoguet 114]

I wonder if Calais can repeat their success of a few years ago?

They are now the lowest ranked team in the competition.

Oops, well here's the quarter final draw, to be played next Tuesday and Wednesday...

    PSG (L1) v Lille (L1)

    Lyon (L1) v Marseille (L1)

    Rennes (L1) v Montpellier (L2)

    Calais (CFA) v Nantes (L1)

edit: if you must know, the site did say Colmar v Nantes.

Adidas for all: Coupe de France

(this is mostly a topic of its own, concerning kits, marketing and the coupe, but I'm still a new member and cannot start a new thread, so guess it would come here)

The FFF must have some strange sponsorship contracts for the Coupe de France. All the teams must abandon their usual kits and play with Adidas just for Coupe matches. The shirt sponsors are also different just for this matches - all kits are covered with SFR, Pitch, TF1 and Caisse d'Epargne logos.

Just a couple of photos from this week's games:

PSG and Lilles would normally play with Nike and Kipsta respectively(a pic from a league game some days ago):

Not this time. Both in Adidas:

Umbro is, as we know, Lyon's supplier:

    It was Adidas yesterday:

Rennes must be glad as in stead of usual Airness:

    they wore Adidas tonight:

Yep. That's true. Further on; the starting players shirt numbers must be in the interval 1-11.

    Quarter Final Results:

    PSG (L1) 2-1 Lille (L1)

    Lyon (L1) 1-2 Marseille (L1)

    Rennes (L1) 5-3 Montpellier (L2) [aet]

    Calais (CFA) 0-1 Nantes (L1)

btw: there is a limit on how many images you can post plamenj. And yes, the Coupe de France is basically a FFF ran competition and as a result they have a say on the sponsorships and squad numbers etc.

Funny, we could have a Breton derby and a classico for the semis, or then the finale.

Concerning the Rennes v Montpellier game :

    Rennes :

    J.BRIAND (2e)
    O.MONTERRUBIO (97e, 102e)
    J.UTAKA (105e)
    K.KALLSTROM (110e)

    Montpellier :

    J.LAFOURCADE (11e, 103e, 112e)

    Crazy stuff !

    well, you're French :)

the popularity of newly emerging suppliers such as Airness, Jako, Joma is certainly a reaction of the growing infulence and look-alike kits of the Nike and Adidas empires. they have my respect! but after seeing what Airness have done to Fulham...

yes, at my son's school if you don't have an airness book bag, you're nothing. if you have one of their phones, well, you're cooler than gad elmaleh!airness, c'est trop top! (strange that everyone talks about how france is racist when the hippest gear is african and the hippest entertainer is a moroccan jew ;) )

now if you want pitiful, it's lille in their kipsta kit! it comes from france's version of big 5! it's a hobo suit, darling!

Airness intends to have a go at providing 'Les bleus' kits too. Something tells me the government might put its weight in the balance.

I have a feeling we could see a Breton final you know.

But maybe the French FA will rig it so they can have a PSG v OM one instead. ;)

Rennes are getting crushed 3-0 at the Velodrome in the 75th minute. Could be that PSG vs Marseille final that would be oh so interesting.

    (can't give rep)

No unemployement in this sector of activity ! Riots in november, riots in spring, and now PSG-OM in final. Poor, poor, poor boys in blue. They deserve a vacation, I think. We should collect some charity funds for them.

Yeah, and if one isn't convinced yet. You do have many advantages in the job like beating student girls with a stick, insulting foreigners or making the best of the Police narcotics stockpiles all of this being very appeasing in times of stress...

    On another note :

Here is a detail from a picture I took in Rennes (early March).
