    look at this match report

LA -- Alexi Lalas (caution) 26th.
LA -- Alexi Lalas (caution) 43rd. LA -- Alexi Lalas (ejection) 43rd.
COL -- Jeff Stewart (caution) 47th.
COL -- Ritchie Kotschau (caution) 38th.

I find it hard to believe that a preseason matchup could be this deserving.

This tells me he lost control of the game early on and never got it back. I'm just shocked that such a thing could happen to him. SHOCKED, I tell you!

Wow. He's definitely the Stuart Dougal of MLS.

without seeing the game though, it's pretty hard to judge, ain't it?

even bradley (or connolly, i forget which) commented on earlier game this week how the players seemed to play with the intensity of an MLS Cup rather than some meaningless exhibition. so, at minimum, i'm not surprised if it was a very physical contest.

Having seen St. Silva try to handle about a dozen or so matches in the last couple of years, it gets a bit easier.

you're kidding right? Giving Gus St. Silva the benefit of doubt is a mistake within its self.

Incidentally, Dougal reffed yesterday's Lazio-Wisla Krakow match, but was injured in the first fifteen minutes or so and had to come off.

Seriously? Wow. I'll occasionally check the match reports from the Scottish leagues on soccernet, and I haven't found him doing anything higher than, say, a Peterhead v. E. Fife fixture from the 3rd Division in quite awhile. Which isn't to say he isn't supremely qualified for a UEFA Cup tie...

    Well, yes it is.

actually he's done two or three Champions league games this season, as well as some Euro 2004 qualifiers. also the first Rangers-Celtic game of the season. I guess I didnt realise peterhead and e.Fife were such a high level then :)

well, Hankinson thought "a lot of the cards" were appropriate:

    FWIW, which may be little.

I honestly think we should make a big sign that says something to the effect of "St. Silva Go Home" and have it at any game that we have the misfortune of having Gus ruin.
