    I wouldn't bet on it.

Rich Mexican team owners don't like getting bent over by the City of Dallas for rent on a run-down, 70-year-old stadium any more than rich white team owners do.

In other words, if there ever was a Chivas USA-type situation here, they would in all likelihood do the same thing that Chivas USA did: Pay the local MLS team owner a big lump sum of money to become a partner in the local SSS.

Frisco was offering $55 million towards the construction of PHP and lets HSG keep all the revenues from all events at PHP.

The City of Dallas, meanwhile, wanted to continue to rape the team for rent on the Cotton Bowl until Gabriel blows his horn.

Somehow, I get the feeling that you have a different definition of "mistake" than everyone else.

    Frisco-City + Frisco-ISD + Collin-County + Lamar = $65M original investment
then Lamar paid an additional $25M to rectify HKS incompetence.

Frisco-City piece was only $15M tops.

In time this will be seen as the landmark deal that was the tipping point
league wide, unlike the Depot and Erector Set deals which were basically
    "cash upfront".

Vince blew Gabriel's Horn on 4 jan 06.

If ROB gets trade i'm going to implode.

All things being equal, the question is whether a stadium being in the best location, demographically, would maximize attendance. Being in Frisco, I think we need to understand that attendance will be maximized gradually. So the point is not to worry about it.

That being said, i would like to think that Rocket is correct. That eventually someone will realize that a team in Dallas might work.

The best thing with is that with FCD having their own stadium I don't care what attendance is anymore. Back when the Burn were a leagu owned team at the Cotton Bowl it was very worrying if they had a bad attendance year because it meant the team might disband (Tampa Bay, Miami) or move (San Jose). Now they would have to have terrible attendance for years for anything to happen. High attendance makes for a more enjoyable atmosphere but is now the FO's and ownerships problem. Whew!

The Dart 2030 plan has some potential for expansion to Frisco, but I think its looking like bus, not rail, and according to the maps at the link below, won't be going north of 121.

I can tell you Frisco has no interest in DART for the time being. Could it happen in the future? I suppose but it would be several years down the road.

Im sorry the stadium isnt convienent for you but the Cotton Bowl and Southlake wasnt close to me and I still went.

If they built the new stadium in sunny south Dallas Id still go to games.

You cant live close to everything.

True. And you can't plan urban or suburban areas efficiently nor live an energy efficient lifestyle.

Yeah, like 20. Frisco is not currently contributing money into the DART system, as cities like Plano and Dallas have been doing for over 15 years. In fact, some of the funds that paid for the city's portion of PHP came from money that would have been diverted to DART. DART expansion projects are planned out for the next 15 years plus....and they don't even have the funds to pay for those. Some cities that have been paying into the system for well over a decade still have no light rail....no way Frisco gets in ahead of those guys.

if "fans" are complaining about the dirve to php then grow up. I had to fight through the TMS NASCAR crowd and drive 1 full hour to get to the stadium 2 days in a row. Not because i had to, but because i felt the need to support my team. I like the location. It makes it easier for the national broadcasters to find the longhorns and open fields they always put on TV.

    Go HOOPS!!!!

Cowboy fans from Collin County spend a good 45 minutes in the car, and then 20 minutes queing up for a parking spot, then 20 minutes walking to the stadium. They manage. Ranger fans from anywhere other than Arlington have at least a 30 minute drive, if not significantly longer. Distance is an excuse, and a poor one at that.
