You know what they should do? Ban parking on Main St. on Saturday evenings (or, if possible, just on game days). The businesses on Main Street never look too busy to me, and I doubt that Frisco would be hammered economically if folks were required to park on side streets or parking lots downtown on Saturdays.
Not to mention, most businesses have thier own parking lots. The ones that don't are usually not open on weekends and after 5:00 on the weekdays.
There are now middle turn lanes on Main Street, where before there weren't. So, if you were behind someone trying to turn left, you had to wait until oncoming traffic passed. There was not enough room, with existing buildings, to build 4 lanes. THe compromise was the turn lane which makes traffic more efficient. Not all businesses on Main have their own parking, in fact, few do. A lot of the area behind those businesses are private property, not a place to park. Find an alternate route...that's my suggestion.
Do you know if Frisco is considering building a high capacity, parallel alternate route? In Plano, most of the through traffic on 15th St detours to 14th St near downtown ((15th street goes from 6 lanes west of 75 to 2 lanes in downtown)) And Allen has a similar arrangement with Main St (quaint 2 lane) and McDermott (high volume). Seems like you all should do the same in Frisco.
