We are all Hinchas of the same team here in the US... But who else do you vatos cheer for? My signature has all the teams I follow.. but some I follow more religiously than others but I guess in a way, I am trully a Norteno too of all of them... Alianza FC (El Salv) FC Barcelona (Esp) CA River Plate (Arg) AS Roma (Ita) Manchester United (Eng) C Atlas (Mej) Sao Paulo FC (Bra) U de Chile (Chi) I'm hoping to in the next two years to make trips to Argentina, Spain and Italy not only for vacation but to watch my teams in their historic stadiums and to also experience what is like to sit with their hinchadas.
After an entire summer (plus a bit into the fall) with Gol TV + FSC, I must admit its hard following the game around the world with out those channels. Yet, like many I'm all about attractive team play. Also if a team's fans have a colorful presence in the stands with great singing + crowd reaction, I tend to follow those as well. Sometimes with stalemate draws - I'll head to www.riverplate.com just to watch the fans sing in thier multimedia section. Though i'm always amazed the fans at the bonbonera can sing 'dale oh -boca' for 90+ mins. with out stopping. Talk about dedication
People in Slovenia are called Northern Croatians. Or Slovenians as they like to call themselves. Doug, whore
Of course United over everyone else. Here's the others: Arsenal (Eng) Bayern (DE) FC Nurnberg (DE) - My grandfather played for them before WW2, so I kind of more follow them. He was a Bayern fan too though. Ajax (Hol) And (ducking for cover): Pumas (Mex) - although there's way to much diving and faking injuries in Mexico for my taste. Watching guys get taking off on a stretcher and then coming back into the game a minute later drives me crazy (i.e. Marioni) There's also some teams that I'm not really a fan of but I love their names like The Strongest and Hearts of Oak.
On a side note, what's the difference between the words hinchada, hincha, and incha? I see them used (almost interchangably) a lot and they seem to mean about the same thing.
I agree. I love to watch good rivalries with great supporters groups even if I don't really care too much about the teams.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH ERIC **************!!!! **************! **************!! ERIC **************!!! It's what South Americans called their supporter groups.. Hinchada is the whole group and an "Hincha" is a single fan. Incha is the misspell of Hincha, lol. There is Futbol in Croatia???!!! Who knew!?
DC United (first and foremost) Arsenal (ENG) Borussia Dortmund (GER) Paris St. Germain (FRA) Barcelona (ESP) Ajax (NED) Tokyo Verdy 1969 (JPN)
