What other language does he speak?- it all sounds like jibberish to me... and I speak other languages... He is insightful and knowledgable, but its hard to get past him trying to use three languages in the same sentence....that would not work on espn.

I don't care so much about the mis-pronunciations or the fact that they forgot to mention Onyewu, I'm just glad there is a PBP announcer who has knowledge of the game and doesn't have to rely on a fact sheet about every player who touches the ball.GD is the answer for WC06 . DOB doesn't belong in any soccer announcing booth. Now if we could only find a good analysis partner.

I haven't read this whole thread, so I don't know if this has been mentioned, but according to my MLS confidential, O'Brien is going to be doing MLS games this summer with Eric Wynalda. He's also going to be calling US World Cup games with Balboa. JP Dellacamera gets other World Cup games.

What's an over&under on Wynalda saying something really sarcastic to Dave's face?

    Seriously people!!!!

No matter who's doing the game, you'll find something to complain about!
Why dont we just start a petition to get ESPN to broadcast the games with only pitch-mikes?

    Would that make everyone happy?

Seems like we have beaten this issue to its end. Glenn Davis is good as most have commented, and I agree. I have known Glenn for many years; he is a great youth soccer coach as well.

But, I just noticed two really fine commentators that I listen to on "GolTV", for the "Serie A" games. They make very good observations and comments. And they know the players, well.

Anyone knows who they are? I would like to see them do some of the USA and WC games.

Sorry if I don't hop on the Glenn Davis bandwagon. He was ok. I don't think spectacular, just ok. I can recall thinking a couple of times that he seemed lost.

As usual they were bothl horrible. I would mute the TV but do not want to loose the crowd noise.
