I'm Ok with this since it seems to be wanted, but my seed will be off and on Tuesday. After posting, I wasn't getting the interest I expected (based on my other releases). There were only 3 completes in a week and a half of seeding {although, to be fair, I wasn't seeding every minute}. Once I was unable to connect to a peer, I stopped seeding so I could move on to a different project.....I'll actually have more upload time available Sunday or Monday if need be.... Zathras, I also have found myself not listed on HPI when seeding. I wouldn't worry about it. Sometimes it seems the client loses it's "bearings" and the tracker update fails, thus rendering me (you) invisible to the tracker. I find it has little effect on the overall torrent since sharing will often continue even if the tracker site is down or not connecting. By the way Zathras, I was one of the finishers of your new Czech match. It took a while with so few leechers, but I just watched it recently. Since I never saw the game live in '90, it was good fun! I'm happy you were able to get the sound thing going! I didn't mind the spanish injections either. Late rep coming... So I'll help you seed that one a bit more, too Any chance of an Austrian fix later on? No pressure.........
Thanks again elconejito. I finished this one and since no one else is leeching off it, I've shut it off. I'll be happy to seed for anyone that needs it. Just post here or send me a pm and I'll fire it up again.
I've still got '98 Yugoslavia, and the '90 Czech reseed (good job Zathras)...as well as the recent Poland ISO... I'll help to seed them (at varying speeds, depending on what else I'm doing) for a few days or until needed...
Or at least I will be, as soon as I can connect to the tracker homepage to download the torrent files...
Hey Kronos, are you still gonna up this match? (or did I miss it somewhere?) If you do, I'll be downloading it... And I'd be more than willing to give you any feedback you need...
Yeah - about that. My phone was out for nearly 24 hours, and while it's back up, something is still wrong with my network connection. I checked before I left this morning, and the servers and routers were up, and I could ping out to the interweb successfully, but when I got in to work today and tried to log back in to one of my servers... we'll, it's all FUBAR still. I'm not sure what's going on right now, but everything appears completely hosed. Stupid AT&T. I'll keep working on it.
Thanks Newt....Not too sure what's going on with this one... I was able to download most of it...but checked on it and it was sitting at 98.7% for a long time even though you were seeding.... It was like the seed wasn't fully there or my system didn't realize that the seed was there... oh well, I've never tried to view DIVX without the full file... hopefully it will work. Thanks for the repost... Rep to you.... To the rest of the forum... has anybody encountered a similar situation? Where you can see that there are full seeds out there, you've downloaded most of files, but get stuck around 98% or so? This is the second one like that for me..... (I think both were re-seeds too)
Excellent! I really do appreciate it! It's good of you to redo those '90 USA matches just for the few of us that are old enough to remember those players {I imagine the typical BigSoccer poster is just too young to be interested}. When you get it posted, I'll help you seed the current '90 set of three (including the final, in German, which I'm downloading now from here WC90 ARG vs GER). Zathras, I know your WC90 US vs Italy VHS has degraded. I've been looking for an Italian language version with no luck yet. The final above was ripped from a German DVD release! This gives me hope that Italy would do something similar with their old World Cup matches.
One of these days when I have a spare two hours I will sit down and try to manually fix the tracking as it happens and put it on a DVD. Maybe this weekend (I have Friday off. )
Oh hey Zathras, I don't mean for you to spend your day off manual-tracking a VHS tape, but as rare as I believe that match is, I would applaud the effort . On another note to everyone else regarding Foos' tracker being down: It occurred to me that other torrent forums post to multiple trackers for just this reason. I suggest that to alleviate future issues, we could post backups as well. Disclaimer: I am not advertising these other sites listed. They are for example only: 1. HPI 2. Mininova 3. Pirate Bay The only drawback would be that the torrents would be advertised to more leechers from outside our BS community (Oh wait, that's really not a drawback is it?)
I've been on the opposite end where I have the file and others are leeching from me. The upload rate has been <5kb/s most of thr time. I suspect that if you connect thru the tracker and then the tracker goes down all is well. But if the tracker happens to be down when ur trying to connect the you never get connected. I think. Maybe. Anyway, i hope now that Foos has fixed the tracker that all is good in the world. I will re-seed again the US vs Korea WC'02 match this weekend (per request a while ago), and then I'll post a Divx rip of the US vs poland WC'02. That will leave a complete set of high-quality (in my opinion anyway) Divx rips out there of the whole WC'02 campaign. This will be easier to maintain too since (as has been mentioned) its hard to keep full ISOs lying around on our hard drives. I have all these DivXs archived on DVDs that i can always copy back to my HD in case someone needs to DL again.
<drooling> Yes, this will also complete the reseeding of all US WC matches from 94,98,02 {at least since I started paying attention late last year}. And with Zathras' help it seems we might just get that last Italy match from '94 as well, completing the modern history of US cup finals. Very nice!
Change of plans...if anyone is interested, I have a 1994 USMNT soccer match between USA and Armenia, prior to WC94. I can put this one up by tomorrow morning...I'll use my WC 2006 Menu for this one, so I can get feedback on it.
Just a note of general interest for us archivers: Check this thread link out (I don't want to make the other thread's posting redundant).......it appears that some video from USA's 1930 World Cup does exist after all! US vs Argentina 1930 World Cup film!! I wish someone would find a copy of that England '50 match !!
Hi i seen that portugal vs USA is there but it seems no one is seeding is there anyone out there that can seed this for me i really want to watch this game
If you're talking about HPI, there seems to be a seeder for the Divx version. You probably will not find a seeder for the ISO {as has been stated in these threads before}.
Well, I spent two and a half days downloading an .iso of the US vs. Poland game (which I never got to see) and burned it onto a DVD-r only to find out that the file has huge lines running across it. Ugh.
No, no, no. I'm not complaining that someone recorded the game. I'm just venting my disappointment in not being able to see it. For all I know, my burner or TV could be messed up.
You are definitely complaining to the wrong forum. In this case, I believe there was discussion over whether Saeyddthe would post his sharp version with lines or my fuzzy copy with no lines. We cappers do this for the love of soccer and the USA, lemons, not for your personal satisfaction.
Read my above post. My first post came off harsh, I admit, but I was merely venting disappointment. I wasn't trying to make any personal attacks at anyone by any means at all. I didn't even see the discussion about the lines; I just grabbed the torrent on HPI. Thus, when I saw the lines, I was wondering what had happened. A mistake on my part.
