Below are the averages for the 17 or so posts with projections so far.

Total Team average is a healthy, but not exciting, 57.5.

    Gomez 9.6
    Moreno 9.5
    Filomeno 7.4
    Adu 6.4
    Quaranta 4.8
    Eskandarian 4.2
    Walker 3.6
    Gros 2.7
    Boswell 2.1
    Olsen 2
    Erpen 1.6
    Carroll 1.1
    Moose 1.0
    Dyachenko 0.4
    Wilson 0.4
    Simms 0.3
    Nickell 0.1
    Prideaux 0.1
    Stokes 0.1
    Namoff 0.1
    Bertz 0
    Carrollito 0
    Perkins 0
    Rimando 0
    Team 57.5

Not any major surprises besides maybe Boswell being predicted to score more goals than Olsen. Of course, I didn't always check comments too closely to see how many of those goals were considered OG in the projections!

    Fun game! Here's my predictions:

    Gomez 7
    Moreno 9
    Filomeno 16
    Adu 8
    Quaranta 2
    Eskandarian 5
    Walker 3
    Gros 4
    Boswell 1
    Olsen 2
    Erpen 0
    Carroll 2
    Moose 4
    Dyachenko 1
    Wilson 0
    Simms 2
    Nickell 0
    Prideaux 0
    Stokes 0
    Namoff 0
    Bertz 0
    Carrollito 0
    Perkins 0
    Rimando 0
    Team 66

I think we're going to see Filomeno scoring the most goals from run of play - Moreno will poach a few and will get some PKs. Freddinho's will come in little bursts of form.

I have a hard time imagining Esky getting a boatload of goals this year. Hopefully he'll get healthy, knock a couple home, get his feet under him and his movement sense back, and be ready to give Jaime a break in the dog days when he'll need it.

Oh, and I imagine that the mids who play in holding roles (Carroll, Simms, Olsen et al) will have opportunities to ghost forward and score. Containing Gomez, Moreno, Adu, Filo will take bodies and concentration from them. Heck, if one of them can start to reliably get a couple of edge-of-the-box screamers on goal per game, the total could go up considerably.

[Cut & Paste job from the other thread]

I knew this thread would eventually rear it's ugly head.
For those keeping score at home, here's how I did.

    Player--------2005 prediction--------2005 actual

    Eskandarian--------15------------------0-------
    Adu----------------10-----------------4--------
    Gomez-------------12-----------------11-------
    Moreno-------------8-----------------16--------

    For 2006:

    Eskandarian----3----
Adu------------10-- The breakout I expected last year.
Gomez---------10-- Less playing time than last year (for his own good).
    Filomeno-------10-- I've gotta feelin'
    Quaranta-------3---
Moreno--------15-- Less playing time than last year (for his own good) but he still takes our PK's.

    Adu - 43
Moreno - 4 All PKs and he punches Freddy to get the ball from him

    Same total predicted as Knave

Chris, the Skins still have Brunell at QB, right?? :p

True dat, but he really tailed off once his second option at receiver (David Patton) went down for the season and tailed off even further once people realized that Chris Cooley could actually catch the ball. They have significantly upgraded the receiver core and brought in a new Off Coordinator to run the ship.

To keep this on topic, United will score some goals this season and Mike Martin is a tool. :D

To at least one of these statements, I reply
Truer words have never been spoken

I will go out on a small limb and say that Freddy will score 10 goals this year.
I have NO IDEA which forwards will score more than the others, but I think they'll all notch at least one.
I hope Tino scores more than 5.
Jaime should be good for at least 7.
David Stokes will score 2 as well, I'm just not sure if it will be in Reserve or regular league play.

Does your crystal ball say whether or not they will be own goals?

    :D

    ....I kid, because I care.

I could actually see a scenario where Stokesie get sent on as a forward late in a game to put his height to good use, a la Robert Huth.

Filomeno- 12 I have high hopes
Walker- 5 Could be our super-sub
Eskandarian- 7 It'll take Esky awhile to find his form--then he'll blow up at the end of the season.
Moreno- 8 Many from PK's; I expect him to have quite a few assists, and to be an effective strike partner
Adu- 5 He won't be on the field long enough to score much more than this.
Quaranta- 5 I really don't know what I expect to see from Tino this year.
    Gomez- 10
    Nickell-1
    Gros- 3
    Olsen- 2
    Alpha Carroll- 0
    Moose- 1
    Wilson-0
    Namoff- 0
    Simms- 0
    Erpen- 2
    Boswell- 2
    Prideaux- 0
    Stokes- 1

    Total: 64

Color me ridiculously optimistic. I feel pretty good about my Filomeno, Esky, and Moreno predictions (Esky and Jaime might miss the mark, but I expect them to play as I describe. And don't ask me why, but I have a good feeling about Lucio).

Hey, if Filomeno is RDA Mach II (why not?), he'll get his and DC will win many games.

In a remarkable change of pace, Nowak decides he wants both Rimando and Perkins on the field at the same time...Perkins gets the net, as Rimando was a part time striker in HS and he finds his form and scores 23 goals.

    Ok...j/k.

    Gomez 12
    Moreno 7(all PKs)
    Filomeno 10
    Adu 5
Walker 2(both late minute goals as a sub)
Quaranta 1 for us, but we trade him midseason and he scores 4 for Dynamo
    Eskandarian 4
    Gros 2 + 6 assists

Ursula, I assume that, in keeping with DCU's current marketing campaign, that the "Third Anniversary Edition" indicates that this is the threads FOURTH year?

My only prediction is the Freddy will score north of 10 goals - he has to. Otherwise, we will finally have to accept the fact that the hype is, well, hype. ;)

Damn! Did I just trun this into a Freddy thread? Sorry.

    Sorry kitties.
