i thought ronaldo played well today agianst newcastle, he didn't shine, but was good. But ofcourse everybody is already saying how bad he is, they say "no endproduct", but rooney scores t2o goals but miss 15 other great chances and nothing is said. Ohwell he was decent.

Oh let me add Rooney was brillant today and deserves all the praise he gets, it hard for Ronaldo to shine when Rooney plays, both are a great talent.

Do you think Ronaldo will stop playing good because he might fear getting injured before the worldcup? I hope not because he still had to please alot of fans out there.

United have already won the only cup they can, really. I think he'll keep on his form, simply for the sake of keeping form.

i gave that a thought.i usually visit this blog http://www.r-revolution.blogdrive.com and after the newcastle game the writer mentioned something about ronaldo hesitating to run with the ball and now that i think about it, it's true.i don't think he'll stop playing good but he might try not to exert himself if united are winning.

Yeah after watching the game I noticed he looked a little timid. Maybe the serious injury to Andrade shook him a little bit.

Regarding the Newcastle game, Ronaldo played decent...proboly a 7.5 rating, or something around there.

And the english announcers never stop praising Rooney. Just as the game started they said Rooney was CARRYING the team...I just laughedOther then his goals in the Wigan carling cup and the two goals he eventually scored in the Newcastle game....Ronaldo was clearly doing the carrying....Rooney was in bad form. Yet it does look like hes coming back though....

the 7.5 might be a bit much. i'd give him a 7 or so.

in regards to rooney, yah no one seems to notice the multitude of shots he missed, not to mention the open net.

Its so funny how baised they are sometimes....Don't get me wrong though, Rooney is an amazing player and is proboly top 10 in the world. Yet I think Ronaldo is the same thing.

He's not a top ten player in the world - but he could be quite easily that's what's so frustarting about him. Many of the best players the world will do tricks to gain an attacking advantage, but often Ronaldo will sacfrice an attacking advantage in order to do tricks. Anyone who has played with a player like this knows how frustrating it can be.

Even though his play is flawed he's still among the best wingers in the Premiership, also he's young and he's got time to learn discpline, to know when and when not to do tricks (at the end of the day what's the point in juggling the ball past a player across the centre circle when the only result is to give the other team time to get into a better defensive postion?). The best place he can learn this discipline is Man Utd as Alex Ferguson is very good at turning raw talent into the finsihed article. Joe Cole had the same flaws as Ronaldo, but he heeded the crticisms well and at the moment is looking immense.

Going to Spain will only help him in that the play is more attack minded and the defences a little weaker; the play may be a little more forgiving of his flaws but it won't get rid of them. It's a fallacy to think that La Liga allows players to be more expressive, players like Ronaldinho succeed because they know when to use their skills and could quite easily succeed in the Premiership too. Denilson was another player with immense flair, but simlair flaws to Ronaldo and he failed to make a real impact in Spain.

He has improved since he's been at Man Utd and I'm sure when he's grown up a little more he will be amongst the very best in the world.

Joe Cole better than C.Ronaldo... you're having a laugh mate.

If he's sh*t at United (and he's been the best player by a country mile since Xmas) and keeps delivering for the NT, I'm happy.

I didn't say Joe COle was better - but anyway right now Joe Cole is better, simply because he's got more discipline.

Ronaldo hasn't looked bad at all this season, but he's not been the best player at Man U and he could be so much more.
