Re: I GOT really BAD news about Doug Hamilton Just to add my feelings to this thread. . . This is a very sad day for his family, the Galaxy family, and all MLS fans everywhere. Doug Hamilton may have been criticized many many times on this site, but this is a man who helped shape the development of soccer in SoCal, and by extension the U.S. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed. On a slightly more shallow note, I hope they at least give him a plaque at the HDC, maybe have the G's where a black armband for him.

Doug Hamilton, Presidente y Gerente General del equipo de futbol Galaxy de Los Ángeles falleció esta noche tras sufrir un paro cardiaco en el vuelo de regreso a los Estados Unidos. Sofía Valverde, Coordinadora de Comunicaciones de la aerolínea TACA, confirmó a la televisión local que Hamilton empezó a sentir problemas cuando el vuelo llevaba unos 45 minutos de haber salido de Costa Rica con destino a Los Ángeles. "La tripulación del vuelo inició el protocolo necesario para atender la emergencia y emprendieron el regreso a Costa Rica", informó Valverde. El equipo de la Major League Soccer (MLS, EE.UU.) se encontraba en Costa Rica tras disputar ayer un encuentro ante el Deportivo Saprissa por los cuartos de final del Torneo de Campeones de la Concacaf, el cual terminó con ventaja del Saprissa 3 - 2.
