uh, did you miss the memo that Adidas signed an exclusive agreement with MLS starting this year and that Metro 06's unis were made by adidas?
My biggest concern is not getting my money back on the order I placed for my new Djorkaeff jersey. I've cancelled it, but for sone reason I think I'm gonna get screwed here. I'll be writing to the Red Bull people and make them buy me one as a replacement.
Someone at Bigsoccer.com is asleep at the wheel. The press release has been out an hour yet this site is still "Metrostars."
on red bull's site they have an even bigger logo and a separate press release - i think it's all flash though http://www.redbullusa.com/
For the sake of NY's fans, who frankly have to suffer enough at Giants Stadium, I just hope Chinaglia does not try to go toe-to-toe with the league on stacking the team. It won't do anyone anygood to have Chinaglia becoming an Al Davis-like figure in near-constant conflict with MLS. My one question to Chinaglia would be this: How is his vision of the Metros different than Vergara's original vision of Chivas USA?
Yes, I did. I got a message that said "yes" was "too short of a response" so this is all banter to make it longer.
I'm fine with the name change. Just wished the logo would have been a tad bit different than Salzburg's. Too late now, I guess.
Re: It, is final.... At least u guys are closer to the team than us CT folk. We don't even have a team. We used to have the Whalers, but now we're stuck with crap semi-sub-pro teams like the Brigeport Bluefish and the Sound Tigers. I can see your concern tho, especially since they are being move even further into NJ. From a purely logistical standpoint, they're pretty damn far away.
Re: It, is final.... tough sh!t, at least they pay taxes to the state of NJ. If you don't like it, move the state out of the New York Metropolitan area.
I never thought Metrostars was a great name. But Red Bulls? Sounds like a U-12 travelling team. Please, I don't EVER want to hear about the stupid names Americans come up with for their soccer teams. My condolences to the NY/NJ fans....
Somehow I knew you'd be happy. Unfortunately, I don't continue to root for teams that move out of their area, so I am officially done with the franchise formerly known as the MetroStars. Hopefully NYC gets an expansion team soon so I have someone to root for.
