Sure they can do, they can pay under the table 4 or 8 millions as part of the salary for "SI" players, and get for the teame the best players they can.... They pay more than that in comercial on Tv, News Papers & Radio ....

MLS is really making it hard to be a fan of this league.

The name needs to such that if Red Bull sells the team off, you won't need an entirely new name. Maybe Red Bull Metros FC/SC.

No - Becks plays more of a central midfielder role.

    Red Bull gives you wingers.

    lol!

Why doesn't Red Bull buy the Chicago Fire & rename them the Chicago Red Bulls?

"Red Bull billionaire owner Dietrich Mateschitz"
    pronounced "Made o' Shits"?

It doesn't taste like crap to me. The light carbonation reminds me of Orangina; the flavor seems to be a mix of cherry and strawberry. I think Dr. Pepper tastes worse, although the diet version seems more palatable to me.
Red Bull seems over-priced to me, though.

Agreed. He'd only fill a position that is strong to begin with, right?

Or, could it be he'd fill the position that has been empty ALL of MetroStars history. I'm thinking, section 132, row 17, seat 25. (and many more like it.)

Chicago Red Bulls wouldn't be the end of the world. Neither would the New York Red Bulls.

I voted no, because the team will be renamed. I wouldn't even really mind if they kept the colors and named the team Red Bull Metro, but thats not going to happen.

Would you support that expansion team or go back to the Fire?

As both a Knicks and a MetroStars fan, I don't think I can ever support a team whose name has "Bull" or "Bulls" in the name. (It's hard enough supporting a team that wears red and black.)

The only way I'd be back is if they make the kit look like the can, as mentioned. Maybe the away shirt can be a bright flourescent yellow, like the drink.

AEG and HSG dwarf Red Bull

Yes, but we're only talking about a 1/6 slice of AEG's MLS interest, aren't we?

In the MLS General thread, 75% of MLS fans are okay with it, compares to about 60% of Metros fans.

I totally support any entity willing to inject necessary money into our Club or League to keep us afloat, so long as it doesn't mess with tradition.

I'm FOR Red Bull buying the Metrostars, but I am Totally Against them renaming the team if that's what they want to do!

Instead of Renaming the team, they should have dibs on putting their name on our new Stadium (If it ever gets Built).

But that's just not what Red Bull is about. That's been done, that's something we're accustomed to seeing - every corporation of note tries to get its name on a stadium. Red Bull is about doing things a different way, an unconventional way, as much as it possibly can. Bottom line: it ain't no Pizza Hut or Home Depot.

I've only read this thread, and part of another. . .

If Metros get called "Red Bull", does that create an automatic rivalry with Dallas? I mean, in a league with 12 teams, two of them have bulls? Kinda lame. (Unless Dallas is really a steer :D )

If it keeps the team around and helps pay for the stadium, I'd support Red Bull Kansas City.

One option that may appeal to all is for Red Bull to aquire a new franchise in the Milwaukee area, locating the stadium at 1555 N. River Center Dr. Milwaukee, WI 53212.

Yes, that is the location of Schlitz Park, giving us Red Bull Schlitz! :D

why is pepsi, seirra mist, and budweiser on game day jerseys. i believe we in MLS put our sponsors on the back and sleeves. the front of jerseys are for team names unlike europe.

As long as there's no Bradley's associated with the team anymore it's fine with me.

...besides the Yankees weren't named the Yankees until the 13th year of their existence so what's the big deal?
