Wish they were just a bit more powerful and could challenge the "big three" for the league title (as Braga have in recent years). Always known as the 4th team. They're a team that very few dislike. And who doesn't like Belem. Beautiful area and great pastes de nata! The only Lisboeta team with good relations with Porto as well. (or at least that's how it was years ago) I put Belenenses along side Braga and Guimarães as teams I like after Porto of course. Even Sporting when playing against Benfica or international.
the friendship still exists, it come from the ex portuguese star the played for both Porto and Belenenses, P.I.N.G.A. everytime Porto travels to the Restelo stadium they make sure they take a bouquet of flowers, I believe by the player monument.
Belenenses campeão nacional. Add a national rugby championship title. Belenenses beat Agronomia 22-21 in the final played at the National Stadium.
