I had this very strange dream about a game scheduled for the US Men's team. It was to be held at Lake Seed, which is one in a string of three lakes in northern Georgia built to provide hyrdoelectric power.

So, I'm going to the game and I'm inspecting the lake worried about 'field' conditions, as the lake is filled with debris and there is a strong current(!). Everyone's worried about how the team will be able to manage under these conditions.

No one seems concerned about the concept of playing a soccer game in (on?) a lake. Maybe because all the players will become like Kasey Keller or John O'Brien and be capable of walking on water?

Every few months (and on consecutive nights a couple weeks ago) I have dreams that I'm playing with the team. In one, I was following Claudio around trying to get him to tell me what position to play.

(This is actually LESS likely to happen than them playing on a lake.)

I had a dream the other night that I was on the team (and I'm a girl!) and in camp and everything was happening soooo fast, and I was marking Eddie Pope on a corner kick and the ball went past him and came to me and I had an own goal - knocked it in with my hand! Then they yelled at me.

My wacky dream involves this woman chasing the other teams bus around the city where the match will be played. All the other players look scared with faces pressed up agains the windows. She is waving the US flag and it appears the US has finally arrived. :D

I do have dreams about an upcoming game, if it is a major one. A qualy or cup match.

They are usually pretty stupid and involve the U.S. going down 10 goals or some crap like that while 2 people scream from the stands.

    Pretty pathetic, really.

After the Mexico game I had a dream about someone selling Onyweu DVDs, posters, etc. at a shop in Germany. I think I bought the Oguchi Onyewu DVD.

Lake Seed of course means you want some seed, or semen, from one of the USMNT players, maybe Keller or O'Brien, who you seem to believe capable of walking on water. The hydroelectric power reference is of course massive harnessed sexual energy waiting to be unleashed. The lake is filled with all sorts of waste material, junk, Lord knows what, as you know many of the players aren't exactly the choir boys they make themselves out to be. When you say "everyone is worried", what you mean is your superego and your ego are worried about how the boys will "perform" with you, given the conditions, and whether everything can be done "cleanly", and environmentally safe.

Soccer on a lake. One of your true loves (soccer), playing by baptism, water-drenched, hopefully in sexual ecstasy, with many of the players reaching almost godlike Jesus status, able to walk on water while playing soccer and making love with nancyb.

You should pay me absolutely nothing for this analysis, but I am poor, and any donations will be accepted.

I had a dream where Freddy Adu got in a drunken fight with the Trix Rabbit and I was just trying to get everybody to calm down because it was my Bar Mitzvah (I'm not Jewish).

I shit you not. Actual dream.

Freddy was the aggressor but I'm not sure if anybody won. They were both wearing Yarmulkes though...

you are dreaming and projecting onto Freddy his efforts to become a young man, an adult.

a bar mitzvah is a jewish boy's entrance into the adult world as a young man and we all know that is what Freddy has been struggling with since entering MLS at 14. Freddy is fighting the little kid inside him represented by the Trix Rabbit. they are drunk of course as Freddy is doing this mostly blindly, unconsciously, unaware of what is going on. of course he is the aggressor as it's his ego, which is trying to mature and become a man, takes on all comers.

you're the referee, trying to calm everyone down, hoping in the end both sides will meet as one and become one, though that last little bit has more to do with the true nature of yarmulkes than anything else less apparent.

again, i am very poor, but donations will be accepted.

by the way, the more i think about it, i am sure this dream must be about some of your own issues about becoming a "young adult" (versus whatever you are - in dreamworld). i don't know how old you are or the first thing about you, but a bar mitzvah is about presenting yourself to the world as a young adult as well as "proving yourself" with your recitation of a portion of the Torah, and leaving many of those childish things and ways behind you. the fact that your unconscious is using a religious metaphor to describe this issue, may mean becoming a yound adult has religioius or spiritual import for you.

just tell me to shut up whenever you wish.

for Freddy, it's the trick about to be played on him by not making the World Cup team.

for you, alas, I must concur, I don't deserve to be paid. not even a shekl.

but unless you're in your late 50s or 60s, you're not old enough to be my dad.

anyone else!!! i love to be proven wrong!!!!!

Perhaps the fight with the Trix rabbit symbolizes Freddy's struggle to take his game from the flashy, "trick" dribbling stage to a more mature level? Or, maybe Mr. Bee just likes cereal a lot?

Actually, I'm a lifelong sonambulist. I've walked out of houses, hotels, down streets, its crazy.

One of the primary things that I'll try to do while sleepwalking is make a bowl of cereal. Very rarely do I get the correct combination (cereal, milk, bowl, spoon). More often than not I'm jostled awake by trying to pour a beer on a paper plate full of cereal over my kitchen sink.

    Back on topic.

I've repeatedly had dreams involving the USMNT. None of them wet, mind you, but repeatedly I do dream about playing soccer for the good guys.

Usually, the dreams occur right before or right after a match, and invariably I am either playing, or just about to get on the field as a sub. Weird part is, I'm also hanging over the field watching the game while I'm on the sideline, sort of in several places at once.

So, I get on the field and I'm playing along, and it's really cool because I'm wondering in my head how the hell did I start playing soccer for the US team? I'm not that good! But, I'm out there having fun. Sadly, I never get to score goals. I just kind of run around and never have any impact on the game. Very frustrating. Sometimes it's even like the other players don't realize I'm out there playing with them.

The US team usually loses when I play.

Of course, more often than not, I wake up right before I'm supposed to be subbed on, and all attempts to fall back asleep at that point in the "game" never work.
