It was deserving of a red, you just can't do that and if it had been reversed, we would have screamed for Cahillto be sent off as well.

And Dan, I was thinking the same thing about the team today, especially Henry. It seemed like he could care less about being out there. Never once got into the match.

If Sp*rs and Man Utd were both to lose this weekend, I guess that might soften the blow of this pathetic loss.

I certainly wasn't saying that it was undeserved. I just thought Cahill's playacting was pathetic. Still a stupid thing for Cesc to do.

Henry was back to his pre-Boro form today. He gets frustrated early and just seems to give up on the game. Horrible especially from a captain.

Gilberto was awful! How many balls did he give away in the first half? I hope Diaby is given a chance to start if he's ready. He can't be any worse than Gilberto over the last couple of games.

Did you guys see how Henry was pissed after the game?

What was he so upset about? The poor service? His performance? The teams performance? What?

I'm going to pray for a Villa win over Spurs and a draw between Pool and ManU with plenty of red cards.

You are being picky. At least Gilberto was fighting for the ball. Other players were just as bad as him in giving possession away.

Another gutless performance. Seriously a number of the players should be looking at themselves in the mirror.

Gilberto - just about the worst player on the part.
Freddie - does more complaining to the ref than anyone else. The problem with him is that he does not know what to do, stands there with the ball & is bound to be tackled. He really needs to get honest with himself.
Cesc - clearly fustration boiling over. Deserved his red card/
Henry - took himself out of the game early.
Rayes - Continues to be a fringe player, hot & cold.
Helb - just not good enough.

Know I am being real negative but pretty hard to see a silver lining from this game. Its OK to get beat in a game where we show up, but this is just pathetic.

Maybe the worst it get, the better for us this year. Wenger did a nice job getting more young players, but still is not admitting that his team lacks guts & a real midfield marshall.

AW did look disgusted with the performance.

Player ratings on Sky suggest that Kerrea Gilbert looked promising during the match. Fabregas and Senderos sounded very off.

I won't be able to watch the match until tomorrow, but do others echo that?

Any comments on Diaby (I know he was only on for a few minutes)?

I don't think I've seen a worse game from Arsenal. They were slow and sloppy throughout the match, and had no flow to the offense. I don't like how Phillipe and Campbell play together. You'd think that they just met this morning! I Can't wait for Toure to come back from Egypt and for Cole to finally become fit. I'd like to see Phillipe/Kolo CB pairing once again it worked very well at the end of last season. All Campbell cares about is starting with Terry in Germany this summer.

Gilberto is absolute ********! He gives the ball away and it absolutley terrified of the tackle. Whenever a player goes after him he crumbles like a little girl. I hope Diaby can make a big impact and put Gilberto on the bench where he belongs. He should be at the top of the list to be sold off this summer. I doubt we'd be able to make any kind of money off him though. Who wants a 11 year old brazilian girl in their engine room?

I like that he took a shot right away. That would have made my day had he blasted that ball in from outside the box.

Not enough time to judge him at all. He came on, touched the ball a couple of times and took a long range shot. Might have been better to blood him at home where the Arsenal I know show up. Not sure who those guys were out there today.

I like your analysis alot, i agree with alot of what you say!

Gilberto is an absolute piece of cr@p! He makes heavy first touches, loses the ball and doesn't even go for anything. Frankly, his performances have been totally unacceptable, and I am not happy thayt he is a starte at Arsenal, nevermind at Arsenal! We deserve better...and Gilberto sucks sh!t!!!!!!!!!!

All credit to Everton. They wanted it more and our midfield was completely absent today. Reyes was good, but Henry didnt seem very hungry today.

All in all my verdict on our play today is that we sucked donkey kong.

The problem with Hleb is that he has not settled into the team. To be fair, recall that he had a long spell on the sidelines with an injury. He has a decent touch, but he runs himself into trouble all too often rather than looking for an open man. This is likely the case because he runs with his head down.

I beg to differ. Fabregas was crap today. He spurned too good chances to score. The first came early on shortly after Freddie blew his opportunity. Recall that Fabregs could not keep his shot on target. Then, of course, he spurned his attempt one on one with Martyn. In addition, he conceded possession quite frequently with poor passing. Oh yes, and his sending off was attributed to sheer stupidity. He was asking for trouble by grabbing Cahill's neck.

Agreed that Diaby should not have tried that; however it was one more shot than most of our players had all match.

    Utterly abysmal!!

I agree about the sending off Cam, I thought we'd grown out of this foolishness, I'd much rather see this agression channelled into open play. I thought Gilberto had another stinker today, fair enough, he hasn't got Vieira there anymore, but it's his passing, and takling like a tart that pisses me off. Gilbert looks like a good prospect though. It's annoying how this can ruin the whole day, still gotta take therough with the smooth..more smooth here please.

Am I the only one that thinks we need a new captain? Henry is quite a poor leader out on the pitch. You can't be a leader when you're giving up because we're playing like ********. The only ones out there with any kind of fire in them today were Jens and Cesc (that kid's got some spunk!)

The whole team needs to be more physical, especially through the midfield. Cesc has great technical skills but he is just out muscled at times all over the pitch. Hopefully, as he matures he will get more physical. The service for Henry from the midfield has been awful.

I thought Ljungberg had an ok game but Pires was weak. Sol and Senderos worry me. I think Sol's better days are behind him and Senderos needs a boost of confidence.

Diaby should help the midfield situation. I love the fact that Wenger brings in these teenagers, however, I feel one of his weaknesses is not bringing in an established player here or there to help a younger player make a transition to first team football. A veteran to plug up a hole in the midfield or on the back line. I don't think it would break the bank. Like a, dare I say it, Gilles Grimandi. A bad example, but just someone to help out, a role player.

Also, with the departure of Vieira and Edu I wonder if Wenger regrets selling Parlour two years ago. I think he would be a huge asset right now.

I may have agreed with you last season about Parlour but he has looked well past it for awhile now and he has been injured alot. Not sure that having him around would help much.

I agree (I think we all agree actually) that we need a physical presence and some bite in the midfield but it looks like Wenger thinks Diaby will be that guy. The fact that we've bought Keown back to teach the kid is a good and bad sign. Sure he'll learn how to get stuck in but it means that he is not close to being the midfield boss we need now. Shame that we're allergic to experience.

Hey at least the next game is at home. ;)
