Ok, try #2 - now that it's official. We are all being asked to post polls to review our moderating for 2005. Please take the time to read the New BigSoccer Guidelines, as they will dictate any changes in the boards in general for 2006. THE MODERATOR POLL ================= Please rate me, your forum Mods (sarabella) and how I moderated this forum, Everton, in 2005. These polls have been created at the request of the BigSoccer Admins in an effort to improve our community and clarify our newly revised community guidelines for the coming year. Please be honest, civil, and fair in your responses. After one week, we (me and/or the SuperMods) will attempt to respond and address your praise and criticism. A little background about me: I have been a mod of this forum since September 2004, and have been a member of BigSoccer since June 2004. I also moderate the Premiership main board, all the Premiership club fora, and the World Cup 2006 fora. A= Excellent B= Above Average C= Average F= Poor Thanks for taking the time to vote and provide feedback.
That just makes her human who wouldnt want that hunk of Scottish burning love. More of a serious note tho. I joined about September 2005 yet have only just started to post and from what ive seen of her moderatating on the different boards i wouls say youre doing a great job sarabella. Keep the good work up
My only complaint: this board should have another Evertonian moderator. I'd much rather have a Toffee help Sara out as a 2nd moderator than to have to rely on Bolton, Arsenal or Chelsea fans to do so.
Funny that, as Clan, Sara and myself have always relied on each other, and done quite well. But I suppose you'd be soooo much better, as you obviously are at everything in the past month or so.......
Than an Arse fan? Most certainly. Actually, as you know, Huss is looking for new mods to add to our current corps, and the 2nd mod chair here would be great for an Evertonian interested in becoming a mod. Over in MLS, each team has 2 or 3 mods, and the main MLS mods like myself (who are the equivalent to you, Clan, Prenn, and Sara) have no modding powers over all the MLS club forums. Hopefully, that will eventually take place in the EPL team forums as well.
1) I doubt it. 2) Why? Coz we arn't helpful. Sorry if I sound arsed off, but the three/four of us are quite adept at dealing with everything here. No complaints yet apart from the new motormouth of the Board.......
The more independence the EPL team forums have from the main EPL forum, the beter, IMHO. Back before Sara became mod of the Everton forum and helped bring some life here, this forum was pretty dead while the main EPL mods were in charge. You guys did a good job responding to problem posts, but for obvious reasons, did not get involved in starting threads or trying to get the discussion rolling here. Hopefully, each active EPL team forum will eventually find enough mods who are fans of that team so that there will be no need to have moderators of the parent forum "England: Club Forums".
a) I became a Mod just before Sara and was put as a Club Forum Mod after her. we have all tried to get everything going and it works. b) Not trying to be dis-respectful to your opinions, ok - so I am. What you have in the MLS won't work as there is a completly different mind set. You have what you have and just because I don't like it, I don't try and change it. Can you take the hint yet? It's called stop meddling in stuff which isn't your own business. Seriously is there a damm thread in the Mods forum you haven't had your oar in the past month? c) It ain't broke, it works well, everyone is happy but you - so we'll leave it alone.
I don't think thats in the spirit of the poll to punish her for doing what shes supposed to do. I give her an A for deleting your obsceneties.
Thanks for the comments and positive reinforcements. I've worked hard to breathe some life back into this forum, as it was basically collecting tumbleweeds when I came around a year and a half ago. As for the points raised in this thread: First, Dellci - you know I don't have a problem with your swearing. I do, however, have to uphold the TOS and censor bypassing is a no-no. Sorry, them's the rules. Second, the addition of another Evertonian mod - I've thought a lot about this since I started moderating this board, and to be honest, I don't think it's necessary. This board doesn't get the traffic the Arsenal or Manchester United or Chelsea boards do and another mod, in my opinion, would be overkill. I'll continue to consider the addition of another Evertonian moderator, especially if more people speak up about the need for one. For now, though, Clan, Rick and Prenn do an excellent job of keeping an eye on things when I'm not around (which is hardly ever). And Rocket - I appreciate your comments about how the MLS boards are run. However, English fans and English football has a very different mindset than MLS and what works over there won't necessarily work over here. "Neutral" mods are necessary, if for no other reason than the rivalries are too heated. During big games, threads will often degenerate into heated arguments and the club-biased moderator is just that - biased. It sometimes takes a neutral set of eyes to sort things out and try to keep things as fair as possible. I'm not saying that doesn't happen on the MLS boards. But I am saying that what we have works for us and we'd like to keep it that way. One more thing to point out - this is not MY forum. It's YOUR forum. It's not up to me to start threads, keep the conversation going, update information, etc. It's up to all of us. I do it because I love this team and I enjoy having a place to go where people share my interests. Anyway, you guys have been a lot of fun to hang out with and I'm proud that we're all fans of the same great team.
Thanks for the explanation, Sara. Not sure that I fully understand it, though. To me, each club forum was created to be a gathering spot for fans of that club. Who's in the best position to determine whether someone is stirring things up too much or not? In my opinion, the fans of that club -- as represented by their moderator(s). But at least we don't have a Liverpool or ManUtd fan as one of our mods here. Damned if some RedShiite or ManUre supporter is going to tell an Evertonian how to behave in his own club's forum.
The board here has become a hell of a lot better since Sara joined. I still remember that day she first popped up. You still have that crush on Stevie G?
