    Bloody take it :D

£1m (unless you mean Euro) profit on a player who never plays.

    Here is something controversial:

Even though Borgetti hasn't gotten playing time, and doesn't fit into Sam's rigid scheme, I think he has played better than I expected. In the Mexican League & Libertadores, he scored once ever two games on average (maybe ever 100 minutes or so)...but in Europe his scoring rate has been much higher (granted its against Cup & UEFA teams...but nonetheless...he is much more productive there than in Mexico).

Sporting Lisbon may also put in a bid for his services.

Where ever he goes I just want him to get serious playing time.

anyone got any solid links to any of this all seems a bit in the air at the moment, havent seen anything for a while but assumin that Jansen has been brought in as a temporary replacement to alow him to leave, im asuming that meens something is on the table thought for him to bring another in. Would have thought the selection this weekend would give it away (ie hes on the bench nothings final, hes not, hes off in the next week).

Hey, I might be one of the few, but I fully admit that Davies is the player more suited to the Bolton style; Borgetti was the right player to sub off.

Of course Borghetti was the player who had to be subbed. Borghetti cannot play as a sole forward plus Davies defensive prowess is miles better than Borg.
However, Big Sam sending on Jansen made no sense at all, he seem so frail and timid.

......between Borgetti & Davies....agreed Borgetti should have come off, particularly to force the stalemate.

But, Allerdyce could have played it differently, he could have played to win on a counterattack....he could have subbed off Stelios or Gardener.....put 7 behind the ball, and left Davies & Borgetti up top, to chase down long balls....with the support of Nolan's incursions....

    A little too risky though.

Alternatively he could have take Borgetti off and replaced him with Vaz Te and done exactly the same thing but with more pace an energy up front ;)

I feel sorry for Jared, I really hope we try the same system against City.

I think Borgetti could have made the goal that Vaz Te missed .

Its impossible to speculate...but it is true that Borgetti is the highest scoring Forward on Bolton (on a per minute basis) and Bolton is a low scoring team...so if they want more...they need to figure out a scheme that includes Borgetti.

He'd never have got into that position in the first place.

We're also a really difficult team to score against because of our compact 5 man midfield. Taking a man out to accommodate Borgetti could just as easily cost us more goals than he scores.

perhaps...but regardles..had Jared been in that same situation he would have put it in the back of the net.

Like pren said he wouldnt have made the open net opertunity, i meen if i had been put in front of an empty net i could finish it but its making chances which is the important bit. Borgetti has shown he can finish but hasnt created anything. Davies has proved an important creator, he is a waste down the right though dunno why sam insists on doing it.

I think calling Davies a creative player is being a bit too kind...
