Not to mention the fact that Davey only has a £2m transfer kitty to work with.

I think signing anyone before the end of the month is highly unlikely, unless he is basically free.

Aston Villa and Fullham are also looking at this striker.

Hes being touted as a loan signing but i doubt we could afford to stretch our wage budget to 50k p/w plus hes got chracter issues aswell so i doubt it would happen.

Linked also with Earnshaw for aswell as he wants out of W.B.A and Robson wont stand in his way. If he changes his celebration routine i would have him.

Interesting. In a different article from soccernet on the same day (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=354702&cc=5901), the following was said about ManU's likely spending:

With both Michael Ballack and Thomas Gravesen ruled out on age grounds and no alternative candidate available at present, it is understood Ferguson will instead place his trust in the likes of Alan Smith and Darren Fletcher to provide support for Paul Scholes in the United midfield during the remainder of the campaign.

If true, maybe there's hope...? Nah, never mind.

    A small blurb from football365:

Everton are poised to hijack Fulham's bid for Celtic midfielder Stilian Petrov...

Blacburn Rovers have agreed to release Matt Jansen from his contract. Maybe Moyes will make his move for him

Looks like Gravesen is gonna complete his move to Man United early next week for 3m. This is according to his agent who has just been on Sky Sports News.

I thought I read that age ruled him out from a move to Man U?

    Re: January transfer rumours

Well im only reporting what ive heard although united have stated that they havent bid for Gravesen.

Although im surprised if they are gonna pay upto 3m for him. Theve paid 5.5m for Evra and 7m for Vidic a total of 12.5m already and with them losing the Vodafone deal and being out of Europe aswell i had heard that the Glaziers wernt willing to give too much money for transfers in January.

Update on Jansen Wigan,Man City and Fulham(i think) have joined us in trying to sign Jansen. Apparently noones willing to give him the permanent deal that he wants, clcubs have only shown interest with regards to a deal till the end of the season.

    Re: January transfer rumours

The soccernet articles have been pretty inconsistent. One on the 10th said ManU was interested, but another on the same day had the age claim ruling out the move. Then another article from today had the deal back on... I suspect Big_Bad_Mcnabb's info is most up-to-date and hence most reliable.

I would say mine might be more upto date because i saw the peice about Gravesen on Sky Sports News which is like Sportscenter in the U.S but just imagine that it really only covers English Football for about 55mins out of every hour and runs 24/7.

    Sorry didnt mean to brag.

Jansen was apparently meant to train with Man City today but never turned up. No reason has been given yet why he failed to attend.

just to amend one of earlier post its Man City Wigan and Bolton also interested in Matt Jansen.

For the record, I never read Soccernet. I usually get my info from the BBC or (for rumours) Toffeeweb.

Matt Jansen signs with Bolton until end of the season.

Moyes seems abit pessimistic about signing anyone in the transfer window. Hes been talking about how over priced players become in this transfer window even in the lower leagues.

Doesn't sound like Anelka fancies playing for us...he's a cancer anyway (sour grapes anyone?). Here's a quote:

    Re: January transfer rumours

And yet another wrinkle...from football365 transfer gossip (http://www.football365.com/news/transfer_gossip/index.shtml):

    TOFFEES MAKING MOVES
It's all go for Everton in the transfer market, with The Sun reporting that Charlton will complete the £2.5m signing of Everton striker Marcus Bent later today. As a result of that, and Duncan Ferguson's proposed move to Portsmouth, Everton could move for Nicolas Anelka, Preston striker David Nugent, or Swansea's Lee Trundle - while the Daily Mail report that the Toffees are keen to sign up Robert Earnshaw...

Big Dunc to Portsmouth?? Where did that come from?! And what happened to his failing body, and all that?! As much as I want us to be able to sign somebody, I would be sad to see Duncan not retire as a Toffee...

    Re: January transfer rumours

I don't think Dunc will go anywhere. He knows that regular playing time would only shorten his career - and the only reason he's even still playing is because Moyes asked him to. He wants to retire at Everton, I'm sure of it.

    Re: January transfer rumours

Here's what Dunc has to say:

“I was aware of the interest from Portsmouth,” said Ferguson. “But the fact of the matter is that I do not want to leave.

“I am happy at Everton, as I have been for the ten years I have been at the club, and my intention is to see out the rest of my contract here.”

    Re: January transfer rumours

Well Big Dunc has said he wants to stay. Kenwright would of let him go for free but Mandaric hasnt earnt any friends at Everton by the way hes gone about the transfer so Kenwright isnt gonna let him go on the cheap.

Bent's fee is apparently 2m up front but 500k later on apparently.

Rumours apparently about Hasselbaink joining along with Nugent,Trundle.

Personally i would like to see Gravesen and another striker.

Side note im glad Anelka dosent wanna come. Hes not nicknamed "Le Sulk" for nothing. Hes not the kinda character that we need in the dressing room.
