Re: Japanese Abroad 2005-2006 Shinji Ono's move to bolton has fallen threw But he's now 70% likley to sign for Urawa
Beitar Jerusalem was recently bought by Russian/Israeli billionaire Arkadi Gaydamak. Gaydamak is rebuilding the club with one of the largest, if not the largest, fan bases in Israel and is building a team that he hopes in years to come will be a constant competitor on the European stage. He has brought in French manager Luis Fernandez to build the squad. So far the only signing made has been Lens' Jerome Leroy. They have shown interest in bringing in FYR Macedonia's Igor Mitrevski in from Metalurh Zaporizhzhja and Japan's Koji Nakata from Olympique de Marseille. In Israel the club currently sit in third place and look destined to be in the UEFA Cup next year. Nakata could possibly strengthen the club as things next year will be a bit hectic. Israeli billionaire Lev Leviev (dear friend of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich) will have full control over Hapoel Tel-Aviv and will look to build an even better club than Gaydamak since the two of them are sworn enemies. Names being thrown around to improve Hapoel Tel-Aviv have been Luis Figo and Cafu. Meanwhile the strongest team in Israel, Maccabi Haifa, will continue with their current system. They have the strongest youth academy in Israel and the best scouting network in South America. The club has two youth academies (one in Israel and the other in Mexico). This past year Hapoel Petah Tikva participated in the UEFA Cup group stage. Last year Maccabi Tel-Aviv was in the UEFA Champions League group stage. Four years ago it was Maccabi Haifa in the UEFA Champions League group stage. The Israeli league is certainly on the up with three top clubs hoping to make a splash in Europe. First of all it is spelled 'Israel' not 'Isreal'. Secondly I heard that Zico has been advising Mr. Nakata to join Beitar Jerusalem. Personally I think that Beitar Jerusalem shouldn't bother wasting their time on Nakata and go after someone more useful who has a bit more playing experience on a top level. We used to be in the AFC in the sixties (one of the top countries) and in the 1970 World Cup. Things though became more difficult when we were moved to the OFC and then to UEFA. Since then we have had small successes often in spite of the constant hardships placed on us like playing away from home and tough draws.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2005-2006 Yeah. Why bother with someone who only has 55 international caps including 4 90-min starts in the World Cup, 9 starts in the Confederations Cup (including every minute of every match in Japan's 2001 Confeds Cup 2nd place finish) and the winning goal /MoM honours in two Asian Cup matches as part of his 10 Asian Cup final round starts (and 2 Asian Cup titles). Furthermore he only has a mere 26 caps as a member of the U-23 NT including four matches at the Olympics, and 31 caps as a member of the U-20 NT including every minute of every match in Japan's second-place finish in the 1999 World Youth Championships. And in the J.League he has only 144 matches and a mere 27 goals as a defensive midfielder over a six year career which included three league championships, two league cups and two Emperor's cups. What a loser. Surely there are thousands of players who have more "playing experience on a top level".
Re: Japanese Abroad 2005-2006 according to the Dutch news Ono has signed an agreement with his former club U. Red Diamonds. So he is on his way home and not going to England. He wanted to join the Bolton wanderers, but frankly I could not understand what a player with the skills of Ono is looking for with a minor club like that. He wanted to play in the Premier League and with the skills he has he should be wanted by the bigger clubs. I have seen worse players compared to Ono in Premier League line ups. But the problem with Ono is that he was invisible for the last two years. He went to Japan for every stupid International game of no importance, and in doing so overstretching himself and being useless for feyenoord. But he forgot that friendly games of the national Japan team against opponents of no stature donot get managers of the big teams excited. He wore himself down physically by those jet lag travels and got injury after injury, probably also caused by his tiredness. So he was invisible in the arena that really counted, the European cup competitions. And then you end up wanting to go to a mini club like Bolton Wanderers, that really is an insult to his capabilities. By the way he has behaved he made himself an injury prone player and as such to big a liability for the teams that really matter. And that is a shame, because as a Feyenoord fan I admire him and know what he is capable of and wished him a signing with a big club in England. He is the best Japanese and perhaps even best asian player. But he blew it himself.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2005-2006 U. Red Diamonds announced Ono's back~ they'll pay 2.5 m Euro for the transfer
Re: Japanese Abroad 2005-2006 This deffenetly will not be the end of Ono in europe, I Have no doubt a club will come in for him after he scores the winning goal in the world cup final. But i'm pissed off with Bolton HOW THE HELL COULD YOU NOT AFFORD 2.5 MILLION EUROS AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH I HATE SAM ALLADICE SO MUCH
