Please rate us, your forum mods, Motterman and Achtung, and how we moderated the Manchester United forum in 2005. These polls have been created at the request of the BigSoccer Admins in an effort to improve our community and clarify our community guidelines for the coming year. Please be honest, civil, and fair in your responses. After one week, we will attempt to respond and address your praise and criticism.

My name is Yajur, and I have been a mod of this forum since October 2005, and have been a member of BigSoccer since July 2002. I graduated college a few years ago, turned 24 recently, and now spend a good chunk of my engineering salary following Manchester United (among other soccer teams in my profile). My soccer bar of preference is The Globe (www.theglobepub.com) in downtown Chicago. Feel free to run any questions about techie stuff, cars, American sports, or travel by me in addition to United-related stuff.

Motterman's name is Ian, and he has been a mod since June 2003. He's married, will be 34 next month, and likes to go to The Lucky Bar in DC (www.soccer-nation.com). He drinks Harp, Stella, Chimay, and... basically anything cold or free.

Motterman's Personal Mission Statement as Manchester United Forum Mod: Turn everybody into a Sir Alex loyalist and Darren Fletcher fanboy. Actually, to encourage the free exchange of ideas and discussion about the greatest club in the world (and make a few wisecracks and rhymes to keep it fun).

This poll will be stickied and both Motterman and myself will stay out of it for 7 days. Please select a grade based on how you rate the job we do moderating this forum. Info will be passed on to admins and supermods in order to improve this forum and site. Suggestions regarding our performance and/or attitude are welcome and would be quite helpful. Specifically questions such as whether we need more mods, whether the system and terms of service are clear, and how much of a sense of community there is in here. Issues or questions you may have may be discussed on the moderator forum as well.

Remember, it's your forum as much as anyone else's, so feel free to speak up on any issues you've got.

    Thanks.

Wait, are you suggesting that Wrigley Field is also located in downtown Chicago? Last time I checked it was on the North Side ;)

I don't go to other forums so I have nothing to which to compare you two but I think you do an excellent job. Maybe you give too much slack to some of the annoying visitors but I guess restraint is part of what makes you guys so good.

I think you guys happen to be among the most fair and balanced Mods on the site.. You're a little too easy on some of our "Visitors" but I'd take that any day as compared to the way the mods in some other Premership forums treat guests....

Yous guys got an A from me.

This is the easiest board to read/post decent, ongoing discussion. But when the hammer needs to fall, if falls swiftly and fairly.

Gave ya'll an A, great job. It's one of the reasons I come to bigsoccer, the atmosphere is very mature and is free from trolling most of the time.

Besides the Germany forum, this is the best run one with the best mods per team boards. Keep it up guys, however you should be a tad bit harsher on trolls like jrod.

Ahhh, so the shoe's on the other foot... ;)

Seriously, I think you both do a great job. I spend most of my time in the United forum, in part, because many of the other forums drive me crazy. I think that there are intelligent, interesting posters in the United forum. Part of the reason for this is from the good sense of community that has been fostered by the mods. Your tolerance of others, yes even trolls, is appreciated. (Posters need to remember that it is up to us to ignore the trolls. Then they will go away.) You give antagonistic, unreasonable posters fair warnings, and when push comes to shove, take appropriate actions against them.

Well done guys. You've got a tough job, often a thankless job, and you do it well.

No complaints from me. I only ever notice y'all's moderatin' when you close threads or come down on trolls. And usually I'm cheering your decisions to do so. So, keep it up, guys. Good work.

How do these people (not these in particular but in general) become moderators in the first place?

Are we allowed to use the word "fellatio" in this forum?

It was bequethed to them through a long interview process, with verification of blood lines containing noble blood. Then after intense simulation of being bombarded with complete idiocy they are allowed superhuman unnatural powers.

Uuhhmmm, ya, thats it thats the ticket. :)

I don't post very often on here but am in here quite often just reading and keeping up with things that are happening with the team. In my opinion this would be a hard job for anyone. The mods in this forum are fair and try to be diplomatic with the trollers and anyone else who could be causing a problem. They both seem to keep things under control and keep a well balanced atmosphere where a good debate can happen if kept on topic and not get out of hand. Great job you two!!

I think you should regulate a few more of those who come here with the intention of causing trouble a little harsher, but apart from that it's a great job you do here, with more tolerance then I have. You mod a lot better than a number of the other forums on here.

And are also two friendly and approachable people who don't abuse mod status like others do on the site.

My hat's off to you guys! You both do a great job, and I know more often than not, it's a thankless job. I too have had a plethora of thankless jobs and know that it's pride in what you do that keeps you going. So thanks to both of you and good luck during this next year.

Hopefully will see you guys in NYC (or CT) sometime soon, and I'll thank you properly with a free pint.

Almost marked it down to a "B" because motterman wants to turn us all into Fletcher fanboys ;)

And how come the guy who gave an "F" managed to keep his name from being revealed :)
