Great result and a good performance too! We still sounded a bit shaky on defense at times, and were lucky on a few occasions to not give up a goal, but we also created several excellent chances that were unlucky to not go in. All in all, another boost of confidence, especually for Cahill.
Looks like he finally got the monkey off his back. He has seemed more livelier. Lets hope this'll start an AVALANCHE of goals we so desperately need.
Good win for us at this critical time. Anyone able to get any highlights of this game as I desperately want to see it? Cheers
Not sure where you can find them but over here we have a chance to watch an hour long highlights of the match. I can say that Cahill looked alot better. Beattie looked effective with having a partner like Ferguson up front. Kilbane hit the post from a header Cahill hit the post for a drive from about 20-25 yards, fantastic shot btw worth a look if you can. Not sure what was up with the disallowed goal for Cahill, i thinkthey gave it for a "Foul" by Ferguson who brushed up against Fortune. Go figure. We suit the 4-4-2 formation Arteta drove forward whenever he could and Cahill was a threat they couldnt control. The defense looked alot better having a bit of pace at the back with Ferrari. The partnership looked good with Yobo aswell, it allows us to play a higher line and help out the midfield. Overall good just hope we can be consistent, if we can i reckon we could move into the top half of the table by the end of the season.
Wow - we really needed that... great to see Cahill returning to his goalscoring ways... apparently it should have been a hat trick, but Cahills final goal was dubiuosly disallowed! Lets keep this momentum going for Millwall!
I noticed the following quote on the everton website from Beattie about Cahill's performance (http://www.evertonfc.com/news/index.php?page_id=8673). Can someone explain the bit about the celebrations? What did he do? "In the last couple of games Tim has had a smile on his face, he has put in some of his best performances and looks like the Tim Cahill of last year and that is who we want playing for Everton. I don't know about his celebrations, but it seems to be working, so long may it continue for him."
When he scored his first goal against Sunderland of the season he ran to the corner flag and pretented to be a boxer by hitting it while bob and weaving. As if he was training so to speak. He did it twice against Charlton and repeated the celebration.
I haven't regretted my move to "Rocket", but I think you might be right in going back. What is "Giggity" anyhow? A nickname for Ryan Giggs? BTW, congrats on becoming a mod.
doh! "giggity" is a line the cartoon character Quagmire from Family Guy says all the time. Quagmire is the "Playboy" of the show.
