No estoy de acuerdo. Si todos pudieran hacer goles facilmente, hubieran mas Batigoles.

El Bati fue un fenomeno, Redondo solo un jugador talentoso.

Are you talking about Chocolatin Castillo? I remember him... then I found out he died not long before the Chile vs Bolivia game in 1997. I remember being very impressed by Baldivieso, but his luck in the Bolivian national team (just like in the Chilean national team) is that great players are lost because there aren't any teammates of the same quality at around the same time.

In Chile most people regard Salas as better than Zamorano, and I havw no idea why. Bam Bam was pichichi in Spain, let the Olympic team to a Bronze medal in the 2000 Olympics and is by far the player with the most international exposure. It might have to do with the fact that Salas had way more exposure in Chile thanks to River Plate (not to mention a lot of chuchos identified directly with him, which is unlike what happened with Zamorano and Colo-Colo).

For Venezuela you also have Stalin Rivas, top scorer of Copa Libertadores 1994.
I believe that he played in "Brujas" of Belgium

Peru's best I think is between Solano and Palacios, I'll give a slight edge to Palacios I guess.

Yup, actually i would say it's Stalin... sure he was controversial, but for most of the 90's he was the star...

in the late 90's Dudamel got fame with Dep. Cali... and Arango actully didn't shine till 99/2000... Ruberth Moran also deserves an honorable mention...

    3. Hay unos cuantos, para debate: Nelson Tapia, Javier Margas, Miguel Ramírez, Pedro Reyes, Gabriel Mendoza, Edgardo Fuentes, Luis Fuentes, Lizardo Garrido, Jaime Pizarro, José Luis Sierra.
    Por técnica: Sierra, Edgardo Fuentes.
Por logros: N.Tapia, Margas, Ramírez, Mendoza, Garrido.

I don't understand why so many people put Zamorano below Salas. I'd say the majority thinks this way... and while Salas is indeed the more technically capable player, Zamorano was no doubt the better finisher. Both were successful players in their teams, so it becomes a moot point.

I prefer Zamorano over Salas... he'd always put an extra dosis of huevos out there when the situation was difficult. :D

After them is hard to say... Margas was always one of my favorites, as was Mauricio Rojas. Yanez gets an honorable mention as well.

I agree in 1 point: Salas was ever more technically capable player than Zamorano.
But I think Salas was better finisher also.
And imo Salas was so much succesful in his clubs than Zamorano. Salas never was a bad season until the injuries.

    ¿Mauricio Rojas?
    Well, tastes are tastes.

Please, to my fellow countrymen, the best player of the last 20 years of Uruguay is RUBEN SOSA.
He was, during a couple of years, the best player of europe, arguably the world. He won "best player of the year" honors while he was playing in Inter, I think. He also was a star for Lazio and Zaragoza.

Enzo Francescoli was really talented and did great things for River in Argentina but Sosa was a huge star in Italy, the thoughest league for any foward. He had a combination of speed and power that was unique.

Sadly, as is the case with Enzo, he accomplished very little with Uruguay (but at least he i'snt a part of the powerfull group that has destroyed soccer in Uruguay, Enzo is)

Great players, now the most soccer they get is making guest appearences in the Northern Virginia Bolivian League.

I saw Sanchez play about 2 weeks ago
