i was at the last game before the Browns moved against Cinncinati.. Smoke bombs, people taking chairs.. That sucked but it's okay because the Browns are now back to sucking.

and I rather see Kansas City move instead of San Jose.. but Houston would be good.

Really? That's odd because you took the time to respond.

I'll just bet if they'd had Sirk as your escort in that Blind Date episode that you would have done more than stare out the window making cat noises.

Are you always that much fun on a date?

I believe you're talking about the fact that Tampa's lifespan was shorter than San Jose's and that's why it's possibly more significant. But, remember, Tampa was one of the original MLS teams, and I believe, as Bill is perhaps suggesting, that if Tampa was not contracted so early and given the same time/patience that SJ was given, maybe there wouldn't be much of a difference between the SJ and Tampa scenarios. Tampa was sold short, essentially.

Add in the potential significance of an MLS team in the southeast region now being eliminated for the foreseeable future thanks to the loss of the Miami and Tampa organizations and it becomes more clear why the loss of the two Fla. teams may weigh more than some are suggesting.

I seem to remember some early comments to the effect that the Latin population in Tampa, and especially Miami, were predominantly Cuban rather Mexican or Central American. As such, they were less likely to be interested in footy than baseball. The point being that neither club was likely to develop a Latin fan base. This would have limited growth for both clubs.

    Anybody else remember this?

Now that would be a couple worth seeing.

That certainly explains why hockey has taken root into both of those cities after about only 15 years. All those Cubans love ice skating.

Edit: I'm just saying I don't think you can point to that as a reason for the limit in growth of the clubs' following. There are enough transplants in FLA from all corners that it shouldn't be a deciding factor.

I'm sorry to have dragged poor Sirk into this. He probably doesn't spend a lot of time watching Blind Date anyway, although he could be a closet Real World fan.

But now Chelsey, have you ever thought of applying for Blind Date? I'm sure Aimer could tell you how to get on. Judging by her episode, you don't even have to dress nice or even really bathe or anything.

Bill, I might be out of the loop, but was Aimer really on Blind Date? OMG, if that is true then she really does belong in Cali with all the other self-obsessed and superficial people.

Astonishing but true. She was indeed 1/2 of a dating couple on Blind Date. I'd pass along the details but then they'd need to put an (R) in the thread title.

Now if someone only had a website where that segment could be hosted.....

I can figure out what the result would be. If the guy was in any way involved with entertainment, modeling, or other sorts of vanity professions she wouldn't have hesitated for a second to shack up with him. If he was any other sort of sub-human or didn't stroke her excessive ego he probably dropped her off at her clinic and never saw her again.

My lord, I really need to up my meds after hearing this.

That's not very ladylike. Maybe they'd set you up with a cool guy. A Canadian perhaps. Either way you get a trip to California, all expenses, a nice date and 15 minutes of fame. Might even get your ashes hauled out of the deal.

Doesn't sound so bad to me.

My question is: when will the "San Jose Earthquakes" board move to the expanson forums?

    It's a thought.

One of the other knocks against the Fusion was that they played in Fort Lauderdale, well away from the Latin population (or at least the major concentration of it) in south Florida.

For the record, the guy they set me up with on Blind Date was also an actor as are most of the people who appear on there. Think manufactured reality. Do you really think a guy would honestly talk that much about cheese unless he was told to?

Seriously, I'm a very different person than what some of you knew me to be when I lived in Ohio (and when I first moved to L.A.), so I really wish you would not be so rude to me. People change.

I would venture a tidy wager that you're into bondage and sh.t like that. I mean, you certainly love to keep coming back for more abuse. I guess any attention is good attention when you're a diva, eh?

I must say I find it rather ungentlemanly, indeed even churlish, for someone who does not even know the lady in question to engage in that sort of talk.

There is some history with Crew fans that goes way back, and as loyal Crew fans we reserve the right to harbor our resentments and grudges however we like and for as long as we want. It comes with the territory.

Otherwise, you're just some young punk who likes abusing women and enjoy employing the anonymity the internet provides as a license to say dirty stuff to women. Go say that stuff to your mother.
