What other country in the whole wide world is whining to the extent that the US is whining? Bruce Arena whined a couple of days ago....and now says that Mexico deserves the seed. Go figure. Mexico has had very difficult groups in the past three world cups and has done quite well. Now that Mexico is deservedly seeded (by rules that Mexico did not create) US fans are all bent out of shape. If Mexico does better in the World Cup than the US, I assure you that they will find a way to rationalize Mexico's performance as a failure compared to the overnight almighty US team. If Mexico wins the cup, they will find a way to explain why we don't deserve it. and so on and so forth...Ad Nauseam... What all these US fans want beyond anything is to have the prestige that Mexico has worked so hard to attain through its participation in many world cups. With one OK appearance in one world cup, US fans think of their team as a soccer world power....I think not. Still, without realizing it, each time they take us as the standard for their petty team, they are actually complimenting us.

They obtained a measly 4 points in a sh1t group barely qualifying for the 2nd round, then beat a team that severely underestimated them...and which always plays its worst matches against them....then they lost....what a great fvcking cup The irony is that all their "achievements" are encapsulated on a three prong approach: 1) Defeating that might super power, that they now claim does not deserve a seed 2) Scoring 1 more goal in a home & away series 3) Winning a tournament that was LESS important than the one Mexico participated in...and earned World Wide acclaim for. So what it comes down to DEFINE themselves by their ability to edge out a team they don't consider worthy of seed...how ridiculous
