Does anyone else think the lowest euro team should be in pot 4 according to the bild pots --ukraine or switzerland

This would mean that the team with the two euro teams wont get a holland/czech or portugal sweden combo in their group?

The 9th Euro team is not the lowest-ranked team. It's the 9th ball drawn from the pot.

Does anyone knows if we will get to know the seeds tomorrow or do we have to wait till friday?

AP article discussing the hulla-baloo over the seeding and the draw. World Cup Seeding Draws Debate

No real info this thread hasn't already covered.

Here's to hoping these seeding threads for the past two and a half years haven't all been for naught.

3 cheers for the Bild groupings, those are clearly the most balanced pots I have seen yet. I would think that if we don't see these (or some previously unforseen pots that are better balanced) then there's probably some skullduggery in the works at FIFA.

I'll post my mock draw after the seeds are known.

Well if the seeding threads are shown to be wrong then Blatter better do some explaining on this thread or I'm gonna give him some serious neg rep. :)

Is anyone aware of when they are actually going to make the announcement regarding the seeding process for Friday?

I'd like to get a timetable of FIFA's plans for this very important Tuesday. If anyone has some clues, I'd be very appreciative...

I found a press release describing FIFA's schedule this week:

    http://fifaworldcup.yahoo.com/06/en/051117/1/5a4j.html

The announcement looks like it will come at 13:00 Germany time (7:00am EST).

The meeting for discussing the possible seeds will begin in 12 minutes lol.

This may be helpful to some with faster connection than I have:

Also, today's NY Times quotes Blatter as saying something to the effect that Holland and England have reason to be worried. I nearly pooped myself.

I thought it was supposed to be an hour from now? (due to daylight savings time)

Ok, I'm getting video, but it's financial stuff, so I think we have another 52 minutes to wait.

That's an old quote. At least a week old. There's nothing to it.

Even though I see it, I still find Mexico as a seed completely ridiculous.

no surprises there really. It was just as expected.
But the most exciting part is gonna come when all the groups are decided.

According to German site Spiegel Online, who talked to the German FA President, Holland will not be seeded, instead it will be placed in pot3, also Serbia & Montenegro won't be placed in pot3, but pot4 instead, to make it 8 teams in every pot. This means, that they will either meet Brazil, Argentina or Mexico.
