What do all of you think the ideal lineup for Poland would be?

Mine would look somehting like this:

    Boruc

    Rzasa Lewandowski Zewlakow Bak

    Kosowski Krzynowek Szymkowiak

    Smolarek Zurawski Frankowski

    - I know Poland uses a 4-4-2, but I would change it, because we need Smolarek up front, rather than playing on the wing. Also, we have a lot of skilled forwards, much more than defense and midfield anyways, so I'd want to use that to my advantage. Our defence is by far the weakest part of our team, so I'd always have 4, maybe 5 on the back line

i dont think that poland would play good in 4-3-3. currently the squad should be: boruc - def from right to left - baszczynski, bak, klos, zewlakow (kielbowicz) - mid from r - kosowski, szymkowiak, sobolewski, krzynowek - att - smolarek, frankowski. i dint include zurawski beacause i based it on current form but if he gets back to his great form than we will have a problem how to put the attack together. janas will probably go for zurawski, smolarek

p.s rzasa is a left defender while bak is full back

I would put it like this right now:

    Kosowski, szymek, sobo, krzynowek

    Smolarek, Zurawski

Sub in franek for smolarek or kosowski, if subbed in for kosa put smolarek on the wing.

I agree with johnmatrix competely. I'd also pencil in (Lewandowski) as a possible starter for Klos. Or for Bak. But either way, I don't mind seeing one of our central defensive retirees starting, as long as both don't start together.

And right now it certainly looks like it will be Zurawski and Smolarek partnering up front, with Frankowski as the first striker sub. But a lot can change in the next 7 months.

And the midfield, well, it looks just like it will in Germany. If Mila keeps up with his form from the friendlies he may get an opportunity somewhere at some point.

I think this is a very strong starting line up, stars sprinkled with "worker" types. I would go out on a limb and put it at about the same level as the Czech Republic.

Yeah, karny, your guys are all out of whack. Not only the back line, but the midfield as well.

Anyway, while admittedly the 4-3-3 looks attractive due to the awesome firepower up front, I just don't see either Krzynowek nor Kosowski helping out defensively in the middle. And without a true defensive mid we have a great big hole in the middle, easily exploited by a quick forward/midfielder. Just think of the field day that a Lampart/Rooney mid/fore combo would have with such a line up.
